DALLAs, TX – A teenager is in custody for the gruesome murder of a 4-year-old boy, police say.

On Saturday, around 6:50 a.m., officers received a call from a dog walker who found a dead child on the street in the 7500 block of Saddleridge Drive.

“That’s when I noticed the baby had ants at the bottom of his feet so I knew he was deceased then,” Antwainese Square told the Dallas News. “It was heart-wrenching because this baby could have been no more than 5.”

The boy was found with multiple wounds from what police called an “edged weapon.”

The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Darriynn Brown. He was arrested and charged with kidnapping and theft. Dallas investigators anticipate additional charges, pending results from a forensic analysis.

“A child was murdered through a violent act. We believe an edged weapon was used,” police executive assistant chief Albert Martinez told CNN. “Even us as police officers, we are shocked. We’re very angry about what has happened to the small child.”

“We will pursue justice, whoever did this, and bring some sort of closure — not only to his family, but to our community,” Martinez added.

“Through the hard work of the men and women of the Dallas Police Department this criminal was brought to justice and it would not have been possible without the Dallas FBI Evidence Response Team and the public’s assistance.”

• Unresponsive or not moving
• Not breathing

TBH it’s the direct jump to finding the body that makes me really think- usually there’s an Amber Alert/notice of a kidnapping once the child’s missing, but not in this case?

Did the parents not notice? Was the child killed in a short period of time, before they noticed it was missing?Note that the body was found at 5:30am- enough time for a kidnapping alert to go out the night before.

My guess- the victim and attacker lived in the same household.

Im not a prison expert but just by knowing how people act, Im sure every motherfucker in prison for white collar crimes, securities fraud or some shit, tells a story about how he saw someone 'inside' force a chomo to eat his own turds, then gut the guy only to rip the turd out of his stomach and feed it to the next chomo or some shit. Im sure it happens. I doubt it happens for "prison law" shit outside of COPS. I think like 80% of the guys in prison want to do their shit and get out.

Ive read as many stories of it happening as I have of people saying it doesnt happen and that its less Shawshank Redemption and more like high school. Knowing how people act, on average, Im inclined to believe the latter.

They aren't killed, but they will get the shit knocked out of them and tormented to the point of asking to be put into protective custody. They are treated the same as snitches.
