The one, technically two if you count the bonus released later, sex scene was not erotic at all and terribly awkward, it didn't make her 'better', and it represented the beginning of her feeling comfortable with herself.
Most of the book focused on her eating disorder, financial situation, and crippling anxiety. It was about her loneliness first, and lesbeing second to last.

Late and PL, but I can't let this one pass without saying what utter bullshit it is. I was hospitalized once for sucidial ideations during a mood swing.

The staff went out of their way to remind all of us on the ward that life is good and how tragic it would be to neck ourselves.

I couldn't even go home until I signed a (not really enforceable,lol) contract that said I would not neck myself and if I ever got the urge to do again that I would come back for an evaluation.

Granted my hospital was pretty swanky according to the chatter on the ward, but I highly doubt that even the worst hospital in my area would let someone out without getting them to sign a contract like that. There's far too much legal liability to do otherwise. My childhood BFF'S dad necked shortly after going on antidepressants - which is a known side effect and why you're supposed to be monitored for a while - or forever. I see my doc every three months. Anyway, my friend and her family was never told of this risk and there was no monitoring. They sued for malpractice and won. This was back in the mid-90s. I was hospitalized a few years ago for reference.

No way is this story true. He may have been hospitalized, but taking his meds away and telling him it's okay to neck? X to doubt.

Even the better ones (at least in America) often don't consist of a nurturing environment in any way, because they're used to dealing with people who are confrontational and therefore treat everyone as potentially disobedient and combative. This is when it comes to under-18 places at least, it might be different in adult ones.

EDIT: Regardless of personal belief, I've always autistically thought about the whole God/humans thing like humans eventually creating sapient AI.
