He went on his usual manipulative tirade, but specifically mentioned that he had recently still been in contact with his lawyer on the case, also talked about how expensive the entire ordeal has gotten for him. The way he talked made it sound as if the case was still open-ended, that either the decision to bring charges or a dismissal had yet to be finalized, and that a conclusion to the illegal warning shot / Frank Hassle encounter had not yet been reached.

I disagree. Boogie didn't have to open the door. Furthermore, asides from being on his property frank didn't do anything either and didn't seem like a threat. It reminds me of the florida case where this retarded white guy gets pushed in a parking lot after harassing some black guy's woman for parking in a handicap spot. Then Boogie should have just told Frank to leave, because he knew who Frank was and had no reason to fear him. Similarly Frank had little reason to fear Boogie. People make hyperbolic death threats over the internet all the time; should we treat every one of these as serious?
