Today the United States announced that it will join the Christchurch Call to Action to Eliminate Terrorist and Violent Extremist Content Online, a global pledge by member governments and technology partners to work together to address terrorist and violent extremist content online.

Countering the use of the internet by terrorists and violent extremists to radicalize and recruit is a significant priority for the United States. Joining the coalition of governments and companies that have endorsed the Christchurch Call to Action reinforces the need for collective action.

The United States applauds language in the Christchurch Call emphasizing the importance of respecting human rights and the rule of law, including the protection of freedom of expression. In joining the Christchurch Call, the United States will not take steps that would violate the freedoms of speech and association protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, nor violate reasonable expectations of privacy.

The United States looks forward to participating in the Christchurch Call Second Anniversary virtual summit on May 14.

So you're telling me that some guy on the internet can summon federal agents to their front door with a simple post online? And they'll actually show up where this person wants in short order??

I don't think the feds thought this through...

it mostly for people & grandma that say there are only 2 genders.

"Yeah, shooting up a church is bad, but this Pewdiepie guy? And the act of subscribing to him? WAY WORSE."

People should be making peace with the fact that this is going to be the last decade where you can basically just go online and consider it a separate world. Everyone has been herded online by corporations and governments throughout COVID, and now with literally everybody and their grandmother exposed to social media and the Internet in general, the demand for lawmakers and big tech to make those spaces as benign as possible will enable them to censor whatever they want.

This is endgame. The international movement to impose minimum corporate income tax and online censorship is the beginning of a very small world and much smaller internet. Historically, the US was the shining city that lifted the entire world up and made everybody a little more free.

I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go! Mama, Mama, I can't breathe... Ahhuh... Ahhuh... My head hurt, my stomach hurt. MAMA I CAN'T SNEED. DASU.

No, but we all know it will be used as a bludgeon against websites that aren't Facebook and Twitter.
The dream meltdown that will never happen to the big three (Reddit, Facebook and Twitter):

1.Porn and thot content gone due to verification and sexual slavery issues.

2. Extreamist content includes "Here is an edgy Capitalism is bad" and "white privilege/IDpol" post types.

3. Hard verification with Twitter and the like requiring proof of ID upon registering.

Only when one of the three happens will the retarded masses scream hard enough to discuss censorship issues, otherwise no one else cares about freedoms and the internet.

Sad, tbh.

Joe : "It was like..a bad thing, that thing..it was bad..we shouldn't let guns do such bad things, we should..you know man..lock up the guns, to keep the guns from doing such bad things."
Joe: "The Internet... which my guys say is like a series of tubes... the Internet's tubes are full of bad people that, you know, fill the tubes with bad words and porn and graffiti and stuff. We should kinda get guys to clean the Internet tubes, right?"

People read the First they came for the socialists poem and took away from it that 'Nazis are bad' not that 'Governments never stop at persecuting the "right" targets' and it truly shows.
Looks like this post I made a while back is still as relevant as ever.
