Store clerk breaks wine bottle on angry customer’s head, Louisiana video shows

The clerk is jailed and the customer was taken to a hospital.

A Louisiana gas station clerk has been arrested after police in New Iberia accused him of hitting an upset customer in the head with a wine bottle.

Saleh Ahmed was arrested Thursday on a charge of aggravated second-degree battery, police said.

Video taken by a bystander allegedly shows Ahmed and a customer arguing at the Hopkins One Stop on Wednesday, but the verbal dispute quickly escalates when the customer punches the plexiglass partition between them.

Ahmed walks out from behind the counter, holding a full bottle of red wine and strikes the other man in the head, video shows. The customer grabs the cashier’s throat and he hits him a second time, shattering the bottle.

They throw a few more swings at each other before the customer retreats through the front door.

Video of the fight has been shared on social media and YouTube. (Warning: the video depicts violence that may be disturbing to some.)

The argument reportedly happened because Ahmed asked the customer to count out his money as he was paying, according to KLFY.

According to police, the customer was taken to a hospital for his injuries and later released.

Ahmed is being held at the Iberia Parish Jail.

It's one thing to get glassed with a beer bottle, but wine bottles are thick as shit. Luckily, on the first ping hit you can hear how hollow the head was, so no intelligence was lost.
 
Hot takes aside, this is a clear case of battery. "He punched my glass screen so I walked out around the counter and hit him on the head with a bottle twice" will not hold up in court. The only way he's not going to see jail time for this is if the customer is too dumb to press charges. It says he was arrested already. He's fucked. Under Louisiana law he might be able to make it out with misdemeanor battery instead of felony battery if he can convince the court that a wine bottle is not a weapon.

I used to break bottles (beer, wine etc.) on my head regularly to establish dominance and impress girls. Glass is fragile and skull is thick and strong, there's no way to damage the skull with a glass bottle. The whole idea that getting hit on the head with a glass bottle does any damage is a hollywood psyop

I think it's nigger fatigue. Convenience stores have to deal with this shit all the time, but it's also that everyone is getting sick and tired of our culture making gods out of niggers as their chimpouts get worse and worse.

At the moment Niggerlicious hit the glass, he was an intruder not welcome in the store. Employee's actions assisted a trespasser in leaving. I see no problem with this.

He's an arab ghetto mini-mart employee in New Iberia, Louisiana, where the "victim" is a hood rat who escalated things to a physical level over absolutely nothing. He's not going to end up in jail over this. At most he'll have to pay a fine and get a suspended sentence and some service hours.

ETA: assuming he has legal status, I guess.

Trespassing doesn't give a give a property owner carte blanche to commit whatever acts of violence they want on the tresspasser. And besides, he's a trespasser the moment they tell him he's not allowed on the property, not when he hits the glass.
