There is so much wrong with this image, it is so riddled with both technical and aesthetic incompetence. Setting aside just how downright ugly and repulsive are the designs, especially the one on the left, the line work is terrible, there is such a lack of line flow and understanding of how to draw pleasant or cohesive looking characters.
His designs are such a hodgepodge of features that make no sense being together. The rat's nest that character on the left has for hair stands out like a sore thumb for completely mismatching the character's design. it looks like a stuck-on wig as well as not looking like flowing, feminine hair, instead it looks like what you'll find at the end of a mop. Don't even get me started on the "it's MA'AM" chin/mouth and the googly eyed combo. (It is nightmare fuel, it is incomprehensible for me how Ken can think anyone would find these designs appealing to look at.)

Setting that aside, his shading and highlights work is horrendously bad, a complete haphazard mess. Just for starters, where the hell is the light source coming from?

The blue arrows indicate where light is coming from to create the highlights on the characters, it is all over the place. It absolutely makes no sense because he cannot keep track of where light is coming from to create consistent shading. But even if he somehow managed to keep track of the direction of the light source he seem completely incompetent as to how to render shape and form.

To keep this short, I question if Ken ever studied how to render forms through light and shadow because the amount of errors on display in here is telling that he is completely ignorant on the topic. Every shadow in this pic is a misshapen and unrefined blob that does not follow the most basic understanding of the underlying anatomy of muscles and bone, nor any understanding of cloth dynamics or any sense of how to convey the material's reflectivity, he shades skin. cloth and glass in exactly the same incompetent way.

And if somehow this horrid shading work were to be overlooked, How can anyone justify the fact that there are artifacts and color fill mistakes bleeding outside the lines? (Pointed out with the red circles) This shows how half-assed is this whole mess.

He expects people to pay money for shit that looks straight out of the "Deviantart Horror" thread and done with about the same amount of proficiency. What an absolute fraud.
