I hadn't heard of Demon Slayer before but that character on the right is meant to be 2 separate ones. They would have compressed them together in the anime/manga so that 3 characters would fit on 2 eyes which makes them look like one compound character.
It should be 上弦(の)弐, they wrote them vertically, read top to bottom and right to left.
I'm pretty sure the character on the right doesn't even fucking exist, the Chinese might use it but good job getting gibberish permanently drawn on yourself👍

I think it’s supposed to be 武, which would make more sense. It has a few meanings in Japanese, but most are associated with warfare (valor, art of war etc).

I literally don’t pay attention to anime, despite living in weeb paradise. But I do know this anime was popular like a year ago? Moo is late to the party.


EDIT: Nope. I’m wrong. 弐 is an actual Japanese kanji meaning “two” or “second” — but apparently it’s only really used in formal or legal documents instead of 二 which you see in everyday text. So, this is instead an example of anime/manga fags using complicated or outdated or uncommon Japanese for stylistic purposes.

Yeah, 上弦 means waxing (as in a waxing/waning moon) so I had to google the anime to see what context it's meant to be in but it's that character's rank.
And yes, there's older/more stylised versions of numerals called 大字. You can see the ニ in the bottom left of the 弐 character.
Makes it harder to forge documents by adding a stroke toニ to make it 三 or whatever.
If she loves the character 童磨 so much, why not get his name instead of his rank?

She got them because they're literally in his eyes, pictured here. It's one of the 'quirky' things about him. Getting just "Douma" would be too boring for her.

I see, I didn't realise they were permanently there. In that case I think I was too harsh on her. Apologies for the spergathon, I'm not much of an anime fan.
 
Just for clarification the kanji in the eyes represent their level. He is ranked as the second upper moon. Moons get the Kanji in their eyes, and differintiate the upper 6 and lower 6 moons.

Sure. Thing is, the character on the right as it's written doesn't exist in any of those languages. Japanese doesn't use 上 as a 冠 at all and I've searched but can't find evidence of any other languages doing so. The point is moot as the creators smooshed 2 kanji together due to stylistic/space constraints so I guess it's canon but it's still gibberish to anyone trying to read it.
