the feds were inside the court house when he was being sentenced and if he got anything other then guilty, he would have been arrested. there seems to be a vested interest in keeping chauvin in captivity by the higher ups. probably for his tax crimes. and if im a betting man, he'll get max sentence for those.
the question is, if the judge declares a mistrial, will they immediately chimp out. or will they wait until after the 2nd verdict?

I'm dumb, but couldn't you argue that the protest photo could have been easily found with a routine background check, and thus the government didn't use due diligence? I'm stunned by how much slipped through in this jury. Certainly a jury member admitting they lied after the fact would throw all their sworn court documents into question?

they failed to do that as soon as they refused to hold the trial outside Minneapolis. also, this case was particularly fucked up in several ways.

Someone also fired several gunshots from a car traveling a block away from the protest crowd early Saturday. No one was hurt.

Police declared the demonstration a riot late Friday, marking the third time in five days the bureau had made such an announcement. Well those predate the trial results, so I can't see how those are April 2021 riots over Derek Chauvin.

And if its just more portland? I expected some nationwide shit. I guess they weren't that memorable since they weren't mentioned when I first asked.

All in all, a real nothing burger it seems.

That's the thing. Many were professional, courteous, and polite in how they conducted themselves because they wanted to be seen as any other person and not judged needlessly by their skin color.

This seemed to hold true until the mid-90s when political correctness (which one might argue was the precursor to SocJus) took off.

It's not even politically-charged topics or wrong think that causes scREEchings on social media. After Trump won the 2016 election, someone who simply posted something along the lines of, "Let's move forward and make the most out of the next four years" -- a relatively neutral statement -- got screeched at by an upset Democrat who made it clear they had no interest in moving forward.

The cliche, "You're entitled to your opinion, so long as it's the same as my own," really is a thing now. Given how swift social media sites are to censor or ban people for wrongthink, many users have realized the best way to avoid that is to post as little as possible and keep their opinions to themselves. The days of civil discourse and knowing when to agree to disagree are few and far between these days and that's unfortunate. *sigh*

I always had the theory the solution to race problems in America is have a dominant white class and a strong black middle enforcement class. The ticket to become middle class is beating black trash into behaving. I guarantee there would be a lot of black people who would be very happy to take such a deal.

Not true. There's no specific "fucking animals illegal" law in those places, but that's because they prosecute it under animal cruelty laws. Animal fucking is, by definition, animal cruelty (not least because the degenerates engaging in animal fuckery are all ugly fucks who can't get a human partner, and who would want to subject a poor beast to that?) so there's really not much need to create a new law to prosecute it. Animal cruelty laws tend to carry longer prison terms than specific bestiality laws, too, because you can be prosecuted under multiple parts of the law and rack up your score pretty fast.
