Let's go through possible causes of death for those not playing along at home.

  • Drugs
    • many of mixed in wierd and wonderful ways.
  • Excited delirium
    • exhibited multiple symptoms, it causes cardiac arrest and can be caused by stimulants like meth.
  • Hypertensive crisis
    • 216/160 is well into this and it can cause you to just drop dead.
  • Sickle cell trait
    • a hypoxic SCT positive person is a dead person.
  • Monoxide
    • Sure, why not. Seriously doubt it though.
  • Severe artery occlusion
    • 90%? Seriously?
  • A knee on the back for a few minutes.
    • Trained technique that is used regularly throughout the world.

Anything I'm missing? The doubt reasonable enough yet?

That just means he was super healthy over the average person!

TIL ~550g is less than ~340/515g, the high end of the two studies quoted.
i must be delusional.
There is a difference between a large heart and an enlarged heart. A large heart means you did well in the genetic lottery, an enlarged heart means you got a normal size heart then stretched that fucker out with hypertension, cholesterol etc etc.

I really like this point he raised regarding what kind of conditions are 'fatal'.

Difference is ME sees people who die with 75% and cardiologist sees live people with 90%, so we have different perspectives.

Has the defense addressed that fact that Floyd wouldn't have lasted even half as long as he did if Chauvin was actually asphyxiating him? For that matter, how could Floyd be talking if he couldn't breathe? He would have passed out after a couple minutes instead of writhing around on the ground for almost 10, and you can't vocalize unless you have air in your lungs.
