Judge denies the motion because "that's a totally different case" and he thinks sequestering the jury now might make the jury more likely to think there is a threat to their safety based on their participation in the trial. He says the jurors all acknowledged concern about sitting on the jury from the beginning.
I completely agree with the motion denial, it's way too early on to sequester them and doing so would just cause more fear and tension amongst the jurors.
Sequestering closer to deliberations would make more sense, even for the jurors themselves.

The appeals brief is going to be at least a hundred pages, most of it concerning all these obvious grounds for mistrial.

Should have been sequestered from day 1. They already had all last summer's bullshit but the media coverage of this shit (along with friends, coworkers and relatives) is guaranteed to interfere. Oh well just makes an appeal easier.

This is why I think Chauvin getting convicted of something regardless of his actual guilt will happen. The jurors are basically on the honor system that they won't go home and open their phones to headlines saying DOCTOR PINPOINTS EXACT MOMENT WHEN FLOYD CHRIST WAS MURDERED FOR OUR SINS or BLM threatening chimpouts (and as of last night getting the pre-chimping started).
Another nigger shot for anyone who wants to know.

Nelson SHOOKETH. Waaaaah waaaaaaaah judgey the...the JURY! They're WATCHING stuff and READING stuff m-m-make them STOP waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh I cant win like thiiiiiiiiiss

Its shocking that they weren't sequestered from the get go for a case like this. I can't imagine how the women of the jury would be able to live sequestered though. No smartphone, instagram, facebook, etc. I am shocked one of the jurors didnt take a selfie in the court room yet. Could the court successfully sequester a jury in 2021? I really doubt it.

A random cardiologist who wants to give his opinion on the case is now testifying. He’s nervous. He wants to virtue signal about Floyd the Redeemer for his Chicago friends. I’m expecting some funny moments from this guy.

Again I'm confused as to why this is a prosecution witness. I doubt a cardiologist is going to have anything good to say about Floyd's massively oversized and clogged heart*

*unless hes another paid for witness

He flashes his degrees, which makes his second- and third-hand opinions of the matter infallible Science™️.

Edit: maybe I'm just an anti-intellectual Philistine, but I do not like this guy's voice. Its smug tone mocks me.

Maybe we should change the "fried chicken and watermelon" cliché to "stealing Reeboks".

Every single chimpout, the first thing they go for are the shoes.

Every. Single. Chimpout.

Got paid $1200 a day for his "research" for this case.

It gets better. They're not being sequestered. They are on the honor system not to talk about the trial or go on twitter or any of EVERY OTHER WEBSITE and see leading as fuck headlines like "MEDICAL EXAMINER CONFIRMS WHITE NATIONALIST COP KIILLED INNOCENT BANANA ENTHUSIAST."
And nothing to say, what they read or hear over someone else's shoulder, as they happen to walk past the 60" TV screen, on the way to the loo.

I'm sorry, but have you not looked to the left or right recently? That's not going to go away and get better.
