Once you get away from life saving surgeries and the low risk we do 10 of these a day orthopedic surgeries (knee, hip) the waits in the US will be on that timeframe. Plus you'll typically owe $3k when it's all over. Complicated MRIs for non ortho things are done in a hospital, and they can take a month+. I know someone with intractible epilepsy that it took 2.5 years to finish all the presurgery to get an implant due to waits. I know someone in a cervical collar that is looking at late august before they will be able to get their stenosis fixed.

It's wild that we live in a world where someone can just go online and post 'my dick fell off' before they even contact their surgeon. At least the redditors aren't telling her that it's fine and normal.

Can you imagine even 20 years ago if someone told you that? If they told you that they had surgery and their dick fell off? Holy shit. If I went to get a nose job and my fucking nose fell off I don't think my first thought would be to post about it on reddit.

My thoughts exactly, I was hoping someone sane would ask her to reevaluate her choice. Instead, they’re saying “yas, go for it!!” and enabling her.

Also, Reddit has no morals, they only take actions when it affects their bottom line aka there is news about it.
