Nelson looks like a soy with those glasses and that haircut and facial hair but then he opens his mouth and you realize it was all camouflage and you're not making it back to reddit you got lured in and it's over you're a CHUD now
Chadoflage.

he looks identical to my old physics teacher, but less unhinged.

Because they're retards who have never actually been in this situation but feel compelled to play Armchair Peace Officer.

As someone who's been maced (by accident) that shit makes breathing surprisingly difficult and rather unpleasant. Never been tazed but electrical current of any sort has a knack for fucking with your heart.
You wanna know how to stop a grizzly?

No, not shooting itthe #1 way to get yourself killed is to shoot it. Not try to shoot and miss. But you lodge a bullet in that grizzlies throat and it will rip you to shreds

no you use mace. The lungs are filled with it. It seizes them up. The bear can’t fight anymore.

wanna know a great way to make a guy who can’t breathe a whole lot more fucked up?

I think the elegance of the defense is that Nelson keeps going back to the same few points:

It was chaotic when Chauvin got there
Floyd was on unknown drugs
The cops thought Floyd was full of shit
The cops took what they believed to be reasonable actions
It's not proven where Chauvin's knee was
It's not proven that Chauvin's actions killed Floyd

I might be missing a few points but all of his questions lead back to the same handful of points and it's just... art.

Nelson isn't pulling a rabbit out of his hat. This is a garbage case that should never have been brought to trial. He is, however, doing an excellent job of retaining his composure under the absurd amount of pressure he is under.
Like when you watch something like Making a Murderer, you realize that the whole case relies on you being argued further and further away from the main points and the points being fogged up separately. Once you revisit it and read it simply put and it's all brought together, it reminds you how blatantly obvious the truth is.

I don't quite see how Derek walks away from this one, because rather than a case where a cop was stupid and "we" label it "murder", in this case he did try to actually commit murder and did so.

I do not see this case in the same light as other cases where we have had a stupid cop overreacting and then doing something stupid in the heat of the moment. Derek intended to kill Floyd and the evidence is strongly suggesting that premeditated intent was present.

Anyone who has looked at the evidence knows god damn well he did intend to kill him. And did so over many minutes with ample opportunity to reverse course. There is a marked difference I feel with this case.
Go back to fucking reddit!

I think this is important to remember here: this is still the prosecution's case. Nelson is currently very limited in what he can say, do, and ask of these witnesses that the prosecution selected. He's lawyering with one hand tied behind his back right now - and he is devastating the State's case.

If this is what he can do now, what happens when it becomes his turn to present his case and the limiters come off?

Pretend I inserted a Dragonball meme here that is relevant.

If you want to quickly and concisely explain to someone how Wikipedia is biased, have them search 3 things:
  • Proud Boys
  • Antifa
  • Black Lives Matter
The bias is clearly evident within the first few sentences of the Proud Boys article vs. the other two. Any rational, open-minded person would agree that the description of the Proud Boys is unfavorable and negative when compared to the description of Antifa and BLM, but Antifa and BLM have been engaged in far more violence and destruction than the Proud Boys.

I don’t care for any of these groups, but this is a perfect example of why I don’t trust Wikipedia. This is why I especially don’t trust their take on something as high profile as this trial.

>Proud Boys is a [...] Chauvinist
Not a philosophy devoted the the teachings of social activist Derek Chauvin, it turns out. Maybe we can get the ball rolling on that, though?
