Yeah, I get being suspicious of him, and his reaction has been different than, say, Charonian or Mandalore. But he strikes me as the sort of person who can't handle dealing with the backlash of his actions; just look at how his statement circled back to justifying his fuck up years ago. I think, at the heart of it, he wants unquestioning support and wants to shut out anything that falls short of that.

I don't necessarily think he WASN'T more heavily involved, mind. Just that the DFE approach is not inconsistent with his version of events.

Okay, maybe REra did flip then. I know early on even they were openly skeptical. Actually, the fact that they're still mostly neutral shows how much of a nontroversy this is. They're usually the most ardent of "believe all allegations" types, and have it enforced by the mods.

I remember reading here that Vin was dating someone he met at a bar in 2015. Seeing that all of these logs of Vinny started in 2016 it could be possible that the 2015 relationship going sour could have led him to the way he is now.

That was genuinely Dan's humor, though. Him and Arin are both similar in that regard. I remember them talking about how one of Arin's first texts to someone he was hiring was something like "I can't wait to get inside your asshole'. I wouldn't call it a brush-off, just that weird sexual humor the grumps (and supermega) have.
Dan just isn't really funny.

I've always gotten the impression that past a certain point Vinny just didn't care. It sounds like he's had a lot of bad love experiences, although one of the biggest ones is probably that whole story behind why Red Vox doesn't do love songs.
