Jesus fucking Christ these people are evil. Regardless of my personal opinion of "top surgery", fucking yes absolutely you should wait until 18 at the youngest WHEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY FUCKING CONSENT to getting your tits lopped off. Puberty doesn't actually finish until 20, which means that this mutilated little girl is going to have lumpy pockets of breast tissue sprouting all over her chest BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T CUT IT ALL OFF BECAUSE SHE'S BARELY EVEN BEGINNING TO GROW BREASTS.

Been thinking about this a lot. Children that would have grown up to be perfectly healthy gay men or women are now being railroaded into a process that not only physically wrecks their bodies but makes them ashamed to have been born with that body in the first place. I've already touched on this upthread but seeing so many girls be brainwashed into being ashamed of being female all of a sudden absolutely breaks my heart.

I'm getting surprised the T in the LGBT+ community has lasted that long, considering a community that on paper wants people to stop getting pigeonholed in gender roles keeps assuming every male that isn't an ultra-chad or girl that isn't some anime waifu is a trans in the closet. It comes off as presumptuous if you're waving the non-binary flag around, leading to infighting because of identity stuff.

Then again, letting randos on internet try to push you on hormones or surgery rarely ends well, who would've thunk it?

All LGB+ communities and organizations have been bombarded with Big Pharma cash injections since the early 2000's. With gay marriage passing the supreme court, suddenly there was a void into what the "community" (lol) should work towards; all while those fat cash stacks giving them come-hither eyes. Shit is going to get worse before (if) it gets better.

Nothing will happen until the insurance companies get tired of paying out malpractice claims. The actuaries likely have no idea the risk these doctors pose (yet). Even though everyone could look at the number of opiate prescriptions and say that it was going to cause a problem, you had to wait for real world bodies to pile up. Same way the NCAA was willing to punt on setting firm rules, easier to let the courts and legislatures solve the issue for them.

I expect to see a repeat of the professional response to the end of the multiple personality disorder/DID craze. There is a mountain of neuroscience that personality is tied to physiological structures whose development has a genetic underpinning. Truly independent, non roleplaying segmentation would be evident in fMRI. Despite that, it's still around. The APA keeps it around to protect clinicians from malpractice lawsuits related to the severely disordered behavior they induced in people.

Good news, actually! A bunch of states are currently putting forward legislation to prevent transing kids and keep men out of women's sports, bathrooms, etc. Might be optimistic, but I feel like the tide is slowly turning.

It really makes the reeing that goes on regarding psychological treatment as “conversion therapy” seem so fucking sinister. And the way they treat detrans individuals shows you exactly how morally bankrupt, predatory and dishonest that so-called community truly is.
