You reminded me of Eric Hoffer's book "the True Believer"-- sorry I can't find a pdf. if you've never read it, recommended.

The reason you see so many detransitioners blaming everyone under the sun for their situations is because it's very difficult for people to accept that they were the primary architects of their own misery. Especially when the scapegoated parties do actually deserve some of the blame -- maybe even most of it, depending on the particular case. Gender medicine specialists, surgeons, therapists, academics, activists, respected organizations, corporate and social media, the entertainment industry, schools, parents, friends -- all affirm the delusion and should be faulted for the roles they play in encouraging transition, especially among vulnerable children and adolescents who naturally rely on authority figures for direction, information, and guidance. There's no way pharmaceutical companies are making any considerable money on this, not to the point where they'd be funding its acceptance or lobbying politically.. If someone has evidence otherwise I'd like to see it.

Apparantly, even as far back as 2004, pharmaceutical companies had the money to spent 300 milion dollars marketing hormones, and that was back in 2004 before the current trans craze.

Besides, cross sex hormones are for life as a transexual will never produce the hormones they need (i.e. MtFs will never produce estrogen like natal women do) so it's a lifetime of income and costs. Multiplied by all troons.

Marketing them for post menopausal women, yes, which is where they make most of their money on them. Trans people are a drop of piss in the bucket compared to that or the billions they make in other areas.

Well, if the surgeries alone are expected to increase in value from 350m to 1 and a half bilion - I can only imagine how much the increase for the synthetic hormones will be. Don't forgot, more troons use hormones without getting the surgery than vice versa, so the increase would be even larger

All the more reason to shill and advertise and lobby to get children on puberty blockers, make them patients for life. A post-menopausal lady will be on hormones from age 50 and up, but a trans kid will be from cross sex hormones from age 18 and up.

Much longer, much more money to be made. Not to mention the testosterone blockers, puberty blockers, and others

Drugs are extremely cheap compared to surgeries especially drugs where the patent has expired and a lot of people use grey market or black market hormones to avoid any psych evaluations from doctors.
