Georgetown University Law Center said on Thursday that it had fired an adjunct professor who made “abhorrent” remarks about Black students on a video call and had placed another adjunct who was on the call with her on administrative leave.

The two adjunct professors, Sandra A. Sellers and David C. Batson, seemed to be unaware they were being recorded, according to a roughly 40-second clip of their conversation that generated widespread outrage after it was shared online.

In the clip, Ms. Sellers, a mediator with experience in intellectual property and high-tech disputes, discussed the evaluation of Black students with Mr. Batson after their virtual class had ended, according to the university.

“You know what? I hate to say this,” Ms. Sellers said on the video. “I end up having this angst every semester that a lot of my lower ones are Blacks — happens almost every semester. And it’s like, ‘Oh, come on.’ You know? You get some really good ones. But there are also usually some that are just plain at the bottom. It drives me crazy.”

As she spoke, Mr. Batson murmured, “Mm-hmm,” but did not challenge her remarks.

After the video prompted condemnation from students and alumni, the dean of the law school, William M. Treanor, said he had referred the matter to the university’s Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity & Affirmative Action, which had begun an investigation. He called the contents of the video, which the university learned about this week, “abhorrent” and said it “included reprehensible statements concerning the evaluation of Black students.”

“It includes conduct that has no place in our educational community,” Mr. Treanor wrote to the law school on Wednesday. “We must ensure that all students are treated fairly and evaluated on their merits.”

On Thursday morning, the university’s Black Law Students Association posted a letter to the administration calling for Ms. Sellers to be terminated and urging the law school to audit the grades and student evaluations in her past classes.

The video revealed not only Ms. Sellers’s “true beliefs about Black students,” the association wrote, “it is also illustrative of the conscious and unconscious bias systematically present in law school grading at Georgetown Law and in law school classrooms nationwide.”

In a second message to the law school on Thursday, Mr. Treanor said he had spoken to Ms. Sellers and Mr. Batson, “giving each the opportunity to provide any additional context.”

“I informed Professor Sellers that I was terminating her relationship with Georgetown Law effective immediately,” Mr. Treanor wrote. “During our conversation, she told me that she had intended to resign. As a result of my decision, Professor Sellers is no longer affiliated with Georgetown Law.”

Mr. Batson has been placed on administrative leave and “will have no further involvement with the course in which the incident arose,” Mr. Treanor added.

“We are taking significant steps to ensure that all students in this class are fairly graded without the input of Professor Sellers or Professor Batson,” he wrote. “This is by no means the end of our work to address the many structural issues of racism reflected in this painful incident, including explicit and implicit bias, bystander responsibility, and the need for more comprehensive anti-bias training.”

Mr. Batson, a mediator and former senior counsel at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Enforcement, did not immediately respond to emails on Thursday.

Ms. Sellers shared a copy of her resignation letter with The New York Times, in which she said she was “deeply sorry for my hurtful and misdirected remarks.”

“I would never do anything to intentionally hurt my students or Georgetown Law and wish I could take back my words,” Ms. Sellers wrote. “Regardless of my intent, I have done irreparable harm and I am truly sorry for this.”

Ms. Sellers said she had taught at Georgetown for almost 20 years and had wanted all her students to excel.

“When this does not occur, it reflects shortcomings on my part, not just on the part of any single student,” she wrote. “It is my responsibility to do all I can to correct this. My comments were the inarticulate reflection of long soul searching. I must do better to understand and address these issues.”

Lol ironic coming from you

How about not bring it up at all and instead talk to the students underperforming and help them?
You still don't know a single thing about me. You don't pay attention to anyone you reply to. You're basically Joe Biden which I can believe given the amount of his semen that you've gulped down.

Once again, she was grading papers and just mentioned it offhand to a colleague. She didn't write a paper about it and shout it from the rooftops. What is actually wrong about that?

Lol you can insult Biden all you want, I don't care. You seem to get pretty assblasted when anyone insults the career conman you're in love with, though. What is it about fat 75 year old grifters that you find so sexually appealing?

Say stupid stuff at work and you get fired. It would happen to me if I said that, too. I'd say it'd happen to you, too, but I doubt you have a job due to your crippling autism

It was certainly dumb to say this where it could be recorded, but I expected her to have actually said something blatantly racist. She merely had the audacity to bemoan the fact that the bottom performers year after year were black. Unfortunately, anything that seems like a criticism or negative statement about black folks is "racist" and "abhorrent" in current year. But you can say whatever nasty stuff you want about white people and "whiteness" and that isn't hate speech at all.

You should either be allowed to criticize everyone or prohibited from criticizing anyone. Pick one. The double standards and hypocrisy of policies regarding race is what really makes people mad. They're actually advocating for unequal treatment as a type of "reparations" for the unequal treatment blacks experienced in the past. But if they make whites second class citizens, in a few generations, they'll have to reverse it to atone for all the injustices whites faced. It will be a vicious cycle of revenge and nothing will ever truly be equal or progressive.

I'm really saddened to see what has become of liberalism. It used to champion free speech. It used to champion equality -- not equity. We were supposed to judge by the content of a person's character, not the color of their skin. Now we are racist if we don't notice skin color. It's the craziest thing to watch every value your parents taught you be turned around as used as evidence why you are the super, most racist person ever. And it has the opposite of its intended effect. People will become more racist when you push stupid stuff like this.

:story: what's funny is that what she said was objectively true, and not even the niggers deny it. She just didn't plant the blame squarely on herself for being an ebil whitey so it's haram.

Lots of former teachers will say the same thing but with even less restraint.

The problem is, the school admins don't filter out the underperforming students because of their race so this is actually a systemic problem with racism.

Every story like this makes thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people think twice about hiring a black lawyer in the future. Would you hire a lawyer who almost definitely was given artificially good grades due to pity and/or tribalism? I sure wouldn't. No intelligent person would.

Dragging your peers down without them even knowing under the guise of helping them is a very advanced form of crab bucketry that only American blacks seem to be capable of.
The bar exam is supposed to weed out the tards.

It was a stupid and horrible thing to say, so yeah, he got canned. I know A&H are full of people who agree with the professor so of course they're gonna be tardraging about "cancel culture"
I get that you are a gimmick account, but be real for a minute and please justify "horrible" as a word used to describe the sentence uttered by this boomer.

I don't contest "stupid", but "horrible"?

I'm struggling to find a way to call it "horrible" without being an extremely dishonest cunt, some extreme context (such as the person in question donning a KKK robe on video at the same time), or follow up comments indicating unfair treatment of the students.

Help me out here, what am I missing? Because even channeling young libtard Bush-is-a-Nazi me from the 2000s I can't justify this shit; it's ascribing to words on the page meaning that doesn't exist, and claiming it does.

I've questioned its effectiveness at this for awhile now. There seem to be plenty of borderline retarded lawyers out there nowadays and I'm not sure if it's just the notable ones standing out more and there are more attorneys than their should be or what.

I've just assumed that if you can pay enough money and go to a good enough school, that you're basically instructed how to game it the best and for what is more subjective, you are given extra points if you have the right background.

If she said "Most serial killers are white men" or "white males are most likely to be terrorists in 2021", you'd be seething mad and tardraging about her.
The former is an objective truth, the latter is laughable looking overseas, unless we think Antifags are genuine terrorists.
If the truth hurts, you should get fired for it? Is this Joe Biden's America?

From what I've seen it's not even just "underperforming" a lot of times. They won't boot black kids even if they're outright fucking up the class for everyone else.

Had this art history class I had to take one time as an elective. Teacher wasn't all that bad but blue-pilled as fuck and about what you'd expect from an art history teacher; genuinely thought Banksy was anti-establishment, chunky, thought "SJW shit is awesome and what the kids liked!" Not many people in the class were really all that into it, and it was an early morning class so basically every student was either dual enrolled, or working 9 to 5s. Even the seating was about what you'd expect. Upfront, all the White and Asian dual-enrolled students determined to make an A and taking notes on every single word even if it was shit that obviously wasn't going to be on the test. In the middle, all of the working blokes and vets in on the GI bill. Cs get degrees types. Not slackers, but old enough to know college isn't everything in life. In the back, the nigger kids there for whatever the flavor of the day gibs me dats program they were on.

First couple of weeks were pretty normal fair. White/Asian dual-enrolled kids came in right on time, or just a tad early. Older dudes came in pretty early and just kind of banted a bit with the teacher before class (coffee mandatory for the working blokes, and energy drinks for the vets). Nigger kids came in "fashionably late," which would normally start to count as absentee grade deductions but "muh reperatuins." As the semester went on, the nigger kids started to get more and more disruptive. They kept coming in later and later and were ogga boogaing more and more every day. One day it would be some promising dindu officer-involved shooting martyr playing some new le epic nigger beats on their phone loud enough for the whole class to hear through their headphones, the next day it would be some incoherent monkey speak coming from the back of the class.

This shit went on for a while and while the teacher tried to correct it, this was obviously her first time dealing with IRL nigglets, and it was nothing like the shit she'd been told about in whatever sheltered environment she'd hailed from. Finally, the class gets to the OG kang topic, Egypt. The class had been pretty conversational to this point, with only the first 2/3rd of the class really weighing in on things, with only a rare "sheiiiiiiitttttttttttt" coming from the back of the class. Surprise surprise, you had shit coming out of the back of the class like "CLEOPATRA WUZ BLACK AND SHE DONE BUIT DAH PRYAMINDS! WHITEEY DONE STOLE DAT SHEIIIITTTTTTT!" The teacher kind of tried to placate them a bit by grabbing hold of the middle ground with something along the lines of "well, western culture has been known to depict people of color as white, just like how we were talking about before with blonde Jesus, but..." (chimp sounds cut her off). This shit goes back and forth for a while until some history sperg in the class breaks into the conversation. Surprise surprise, the fag knows more about history than the niggers and the SJW art history teacher. The shit kind of ends for a bit until nigglets keep calling the teacher a fat hoe so much from the back of the class that she leaves the classroom crying and runs to the dean's office. AwkwardSilenceInTheClassroom.jpg, followed by the dean coming in and taking the disruptive "student" from the class. Surprisingly, they actually managed to bag Kang Kong I guess, since the rest of the class goes smoothly.

Fast forward to the next semester and I'm stuck sitting next to Kang Kong, who somehow kept all of his "muh reperatuins," and didn't even get expelled.

Dragging your peers down without them even knowing under the guise of helping them is a very advanced form of crab bucketry that only American blacks seem to be capable of.

There's also been a push to lower the standards of passing the bar, so, not only will shitty black law students be able to get their J.D., they'll also get a law license.

U.S. law schools have been churning out more J.D.s than are needed for decades, which is why, if you're not in the top 10 percent of your class, you'll be lucky to get any kind of job at any kind of law firm.

It's gotten worse in recent years due to law firm consolidation which has reduced the total need for lawyers and has made it impossible for almost anyone to make partner (which is where you get the real money and prestige).

Bar exams aren't necessarily the culprit. Some states have easier ones than others, but California has been notorious for a difficult bar exam, and it still has way more licensed attorneys than it needs. (Also, Floyd mania has put the state bar under pressure to make the exam easier because almost no black J.D.s pass it.) Most people with J.D.s don't practice law.

The people pushing this stuff have to be doing it because they think it makes them look good, there's no way they're stupid enough to think this is actually helping anyone.

A lot of black students are bad at school, that's just how it currently is. We should be looking for real solutions instead of denying reality.
The first step is acknowledging the original purpose of blacks in this country. From there, you can figure out pretty quick what needs doing.

Jesus, why would you do this, you fucking asshole?

As she spoke, Mr. Batson murmured, “Mm-hmm,” but did not challenge her remarks.

This is way more evil than what they’re doing to the woman.

It’s one thing to go down for something you did. It’s another thing entirely to go down because of something you didn’t do.

In most places in the US, a regular everyday person isn’t even required by law to intervene or get involved in any way if they witness a actual crime.

But anti-racism, like with troonery, you must loudly state your commitment to the cause, or else you’re guilty.

I guess this really is a campaign to make everyone hate black people. Who exactly are they not beefing with these days? Whites hate them, Asians hate them, Hispanics are sick of their shit and depending upon their culture hate them, Native Americans don't have the numbers to matter but I expect they’re sick of hearing them whinge and appropriating them as the “I” in BIPOC when they have no intention whatsoever of addressing anything other than black issues.

If she said "Most serial killers are white men" or "white males are most likely to be terrorists in 2021", you'd be seething mad and tardraging about her.

Both claims would be bizarre and obviously false -- as you know, I hope. (Actually, blacks are slightly overrepresented as serial killers; they're usually not well known though because no one wants to read about a disorganized prostitute killer who only got away with the bodies scattered around the family home and the stench discernible for blocks because they just so happen to be living in the ghetto).

The teacher in question didn't say most anything. She was talking about her students who she has direct knowledge through teaching and grading. Your comparison would only work if you were training serial killers and lamented that they were mostly White based on your direct knowledge of the people you were training.

Native Americans are the original tribal members. They worry about themselves and I am 100% behind them on that. If anyone should have an ethnostate in the US it's them.
