Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Gou seems to be going up to Episode 30 based on the Tokyo MX schedule.

What makes it worse for me is they're trying so hard to give him the puppy-dog eyes when he's going through Hinamizawa and Okonomiya with Satoko.

Wait a minute, so Satoko is evil and Teppei is good now? I knew Higurashi Gou was a mistake, but damn. That's pretty disgusting. My Hero Academia Endeavor-level shitstorm incoming?

Edit: Shit, I realize in hindsight this doesn't make Teppei look good, it makes Satoko look worse. Like, I could buy a Teppei redemption arc but not like this.

What does Ryukishi have against Satoko, anyway? I thought she was super important in pushing the message of better child welfare since he was a social worker?

Then again, Gou no longer gives a shit about the messages learned in Higurashi since it's thrown them all out the window and off a cliff.

I want to think this is because they're in the timeline where she never got over her codependency but that clashes with the looper thing.

Yeah the fact that she saw the loops that Rika went through through out almost all plausible defense for this show and I'm not sure what they'd have to do to redeem Satoko for all of the shit she's done. I still find it odd that she's willing to spend all of these loops to remember how to play a card game but she can't sit down and study.
 
I might missed it since I only started watching the last 2 episodes, but isn't Satoko's "original" Rika living on a different loop after being chandelier'd? Isn't the whole idea of the loop is going into a different universe and overwriting the people there rather than some sort of time loop where everybody's souls are the same?

yeah, that's what I drew from it. She killed herself in front of multiple alternate Rikas then just decided to follow one.

Never seemed to bother Rika much that every version of her friends is technically a parallel universe clone, though.
 
So I think it's pretty obvious the Teppei redemption arc is just a setup and they're going to show Satoko playing everyone and faking being abused. Can't wait to see the wokesters screech and cancel R07 after glomming onto him over Sayo totally being #TransRights
