Have we considered the very real possibility of demon possession amongst these people? Adding cross dressers to the list of protected classes and deleting women and refusing to even DISCUSS the issue?
It is SO extreme that I, a lifelong atheist am like...considering the possibility. Widespread blackmail - are they ALL nonces and have ALL their hard drives been compromised by the trans lobby?
What explains this insanity? It just...it just is so not...the way normal people behave. Normal people would at least go huh, yeah we did delete women from this, why did we do that again? Wait why are we including crossdressers but not women? Did someone take notes at that meeting, can we review?
Perhaps this is better suited to Deep Thots, but I think some of the mechanisms creating this madness are:
1) Too much prosperity. We've had it so good for so long that we (i.e. Western society) have forgotten what suffering is. Even a very poor Western family typically has access to material comforts that would have been unimaginable even fifty years ago, let alone access to instant global communication and all the world's knowledge at the click of a button. When you are this spoiled, even momentary discomfort is an intolerable burden. How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is not to use xir's correct pronoun!
2) Porn and computers. Kids today grow up spending all their time online. They don't play outside, they don't really do anything except look at a screen. They talk to their friends through a screen, they have relationships through a screen, they jerk off looking at a screen, they CONSOOM through a screen. The mind naturally becomes perverted and the internet allows such deviants to form communities. And since life is lived entirely through a screen, those perversions become entire identities. This is certainly responsible for the explosion of weird fetishes such as troonery.
3) Decline of the media. As Jordan Peterson has pointed out, this is largely due to technological change. With the rise of the internet, nobody buys newspapers any more. Consequently the media's business model has been forced to change to a subscription and advertising model. To make money, you need eyeballs on the page. And to get eyeballs on the page, you have to be controversial, sensationalist and partisan. This has lead to the endless IS CHEESE RACIST??? type headlines, and the growth of media echo-chambers, left and right alike. Standards have been driven down because that's the only way to get clicks which is the only way to make money, and as a result we have a generation of morons and can look forward to many more.
4) Corruption of education by identity ideologues. This has been discussed to death on here and elsewhere. Critical theory bullshit is being taught as fact. Older teachers aren't educating the youth because they are indoctrinating them instead, and younger teachers aren't because they have limited intelligence, little knowledge and the attention spans of goldfish due to 1), 2) and 3). How else can one seriously teach that men in dresses are actually women? How else can students believe this insanity?
5) Peer pressure and social media tyranny. Expressing one's true opinions, or even questioning the ever-changing official line will very probably get you fired. Businesses behave this way because they think it'll be profitable to them, but I think they're starting to find out that it might not be as profitable as they thought. Removing the ideologues from places like Twitter and Reddit though might be more difficult than anticipated, if even possible. I strongly suspect most of the troon cheerleaders aren't true believers at all or even semi-committed believers, but are going along with it for a quiet life. Whilst I to some degree sympathise, I have even more contempt for these cowardly enablers than the troons.
There are probably other factors at work too. How we untangle this mess I have no idea.
I vote for firing everyone who has pronouns in their Twitter bio straight into the sun.
Edit:
6) Decline of religious belief, and the void it has left behind. Most people live meaningless lives, internet addicts perhaps most of all. Without some kind of framework to give purpose and meaning, people are far more susceptible to brainwashing and indoctrination. A happy, well-adjusted person with purpose does not become a troon. I suspect when archaeologists of the future excavate our ruined cities, they'll find Bad Dragon dildos and polyester anime hug pillows.
Edit II:
7) Memory. We're slowly but surely forgetting what it's like to live in a sane world. Certainly the political memory of those aged 25 and under doesn't stretch back to a time before Clown World. I think this is the most terrifying thing of all.
Edit III:
8 ) Charity infrastructure trying to justify its existence. Organisations like Stonewall have literally no purpose post gay marriage acceptance. But they have a lot of employees who need to be paid, a lot of people looking to climb the ladder, pensions to pay etc. That money HAS to keep coming in by any means possible. And if that means going to war with reality so much the better. MEN IN DRESSES ARE WOMEN! Controversy equals attention and attention equals money and exposure.
