Vinny doesn't even recognize his chat members as individuals anymore. Chatters are no longer unique personalities with flairs to differentiate themselves from one another that feel like members of a community. Now chat is just chat; a creepy, soulless smiling robot hivemind brainlessly repeating the same stale jokes and memes over and over again. Sure, the Chatango flairs and smaller chat enabled its fair share of attention whores, but I would trade a couple thousand owo transpride furry spammers screaming about CBT for a handful of people talking about their trip to the grocery store and how they need to do laundry any day if it meant there could be more unique streams like the campfire stories.
this paralells jermas chat, whom are likely the same people,
except chat isnt a 'soulless entity' rather put on the spot as an agressive, antagonistic hivemind, which as far as i know tends to play a good part in the streams

About a year ago I commented that there's a lot of crossover in Vinny and Jerma's fanbases while talking about which one was worse, and I'm sure that crossover still exists today. Jerma's chat has grown at an even more exponential rate than Vinny's, with his latest archaeology stream getting something like 50k viewers at its peak. The thing about Jerma's chat, like you said, is that the antagonism and such can lead to a lot of "One guy" moments which in turn can lead to some pretty good bits, one of the most recent being the Rubik's Cube thing. It can also lead to things like the catboy stuff, which has gotten way too creepy and fetishistic. I think Jerma is too much of a people pleaser who's afraid to say no because the end result might be funny, even though a lot of times chat's input is anything but.

Vinny on the other hand will put his foot down on some of the nastier art and messages having dealt with the booru and stream chat respectively for many years, and so his chat experience is a bit more subdued. He's not afraid to shut people down when they start getting a little too rowdy or the art is too risque. I used to say that Vinny and Jerma's chats were about the same in terms of how awful they were, but that was when they pulled in roughly the same number of viewers, with Jerma's channel maybe being slightly smaller. Since then Vinny has been getting the same number of views while Jerma has blown up massively and continues to get bigger, and as a result has a much worse chat.

I feel like even on "private" streams of vin the chat has grown in scale so much it makes any sort of discussion between peers and streamer-chat interactions hard and\or even impossible.

Not even going to mention regular stream chats, it's basically emote \ twitch buzzwords spam over and over again. You would be better off watching mods' streams as last beacons of chat interaction.

Vinny should just filter trans flags and the word cum and enjoy the benefits of being able to read chat more coherently
Not like a public filter, just on his end so nobody can pull him up for doing it

Might be a good idea to just turn off emotes altogether so nobody can get him deplatformed for "transphobia"

It probably wouldn't help much. Due to the number of people in it, twitch chat will always be an interminable cascade of people sending mindless single-emote messages to "react" to whatever minute event just happened on the stream. The moment something even slightly weird/funny/exciting happens, every message will be immediately replace by a wall of monkas, omegalul, or pogchamp, respectively. The only realistic solution would be to filter out all messages below a certain word/character length, but I imagine that once you strain out all the non-content, you'll be left with far less discussion than you'd expect.

I totally forgot about campfire story nights. It was one of the many benefits of having a much smaller chatroom in that he could pull random people from it to tell scary stories or talk about paranormal experiences. IIRC most of them were pretty bad as you may expect, but part of the fun was laughing at them and having real community interaction between the streamer and the audience.
I know I'm stating the obvious, but I can't even imagine Vinny doing something like that today unless it involved his cringy mods or Ross & friends. It's just not feasible anymore since his community has blown up by an order of magnitude in terms of viewer numbers since the last time he did it.
The campfire stories were awful and most definitely some made up stuff on the spot, but it made for some good comfy moments. It's crazy to think how accessible the streamers used to be back in the Livestream era of streaming, where you could literally add *most* of Vinesauce on Skype and it wouldn't be too much of an issue if you weren't a brony or anon. You could ask me about old members of Chatango or people from the old forums, and I could give you more than a handful of names since the community was small enough to remember those usernames and stuff; I couldn't really tell you who the new Neo-Sauce frequenters are that aren't mods/the vetting team, which is for better or worse depending on who you ask, lol. It's moments like campfire night, drunk Mario Party Skype calls from viewers and hanging out in Chatango during autopilot that would be very challenging to replicate now. The only thing where Vinny does something somewhat similar is when he either does a rare Red Vox/Music stream, or when he watches movies on scum.space- but even then it's not as free flowing or personable. I could go on about the Good Ol' Days of Vinesauce Vidya™, but if any of you guys have an old memory or experience, I'd love to hear them :^).

Since then Vinny has been getting the same number of views while Jerma has blown up massively and continues to get bigger, and as a result has a much worse chat.
I know we all can agree that Vin's chat sucks major ass, but for the longest time I thought some of you were being dramatic about Jerma's chat being insufferable... until I actually watched some of his streams live. And I don't even say that because of any trans flag spam since spamming emotes is always gonna be an issue in big chats, but Jesus Christ. The contrast between his and Vin's is super real, especially nowadays. At least in Vin's chat you can see some level of people actually chatting on a non-Sunday chill stream, Jerma's chat literally emote spam and meme posting when he's not even doing anything particularly interesting. Again, I'm not expecting a slow chat necessarily or less pogChamps being posted, but I feel bad for bigger streamers that can't really interact with their audience more directly without it being clogged with nonsense.

So twitch might be going the "ad friendly" route.

So ads will be based on chat as well? welp, that mean Vinny & Jerma's will have loads of LGBTqrztuvc8*& ads?
If things get bad enough, he might just go to a different platform. Vinny has said before that he has considered moving to an alternative platform if twitch makes streaming too difficult.

There IS an Adults only twitch like, that unlike twitch will actively ban minors (as in the viewers) and I would hope ban those who are "I ID as a minor uwu" adult children. called Plexstorm. Adult mods are welcome so I can see Vinny maybe moving there and redoing the Blade Runner mod completely uncensored.

All games up to adult are allowed, the only restrictions are the obvious: no rape, sexual violence, over the top gore, no loli/shota, and so on.

It's currently in beta, and yes if you are under 18 don't go there, cause (even "sfw" is no minors) in the stream preview lists you may see come coochie or titty or sex mods. (but from what I saw most are naked or lewd vtuber avatars or no facecam sex mod games)

So in a nutshell I feel should his mature adult audience still bring in views and money I could see him jumping over to plex. and Maybe the more "safe uwu" stuff to youtube IF notifications can be filtered out on the streams. (or he can do both?) day hours youtube and night-late night plex. And afaik BRBs would make a comeback on Plexstorm but no longer than 10 mins.

Surely you see the obvious problem with this concept. How exactly is this site supposed to regulate who is and isn't a minor with any degree of reliability? A good chunk of Vinny's audience is now teenagers, who think they're more mature than they are; do you honestly think they wouldn't seek this out if he started doing something like this? What's stopping them from hitting "yes I'm 18" and accessing all the tits or whatever, just as their online predecessors (i.e. everyone born before 2000) did before them?

That's not his problem, on the surface, but in practice it could BECOME a problem for him. Unless they've got some cutting edge age verification tech that we don't know about, that would be an incredibly risky move for him. Even if he kept the other stream account a secret and only shared it with a select few people, how are those people supposed to be vetted for their age? It's even an issue in your own post:

Yes, I'm sure all those 16 year olds lurking here are certainly taking your words to heart and would NEVER do something so scandalous :story:

The sad reality is that there's just no way to keep minors out of adults-only sites at this point in time, and I don't think Vinny cares enough about playing sex games to risk his career by expanding it to a site like that. I think he would be on-board if there was more security for him, but as it stands, it just doesn't make any sense to do that. Twitch is his most lucrative platform and keeping his streams PG-13 probably maximizes the amount of viewership he can get, since he's not too NSFW to be disallowed for teens, but he still makes enough dick jokes to capture the attention of a fairly wide audience. Moving to the platform you mentioned would absolutely put a hamper on that niche he's working with, and at the end of the day, he does still have to get paid, you know.

Yes, true. He's even said it so many times before "You know guys this stream is rated 18+..." but knows that obv kids lie about age and watch anyway.

Its just so annoying how those kind of kids at worst can make someones life go bad cause "uwu i'm mature for my age!" and then they get offended and demand for the content to be removed or censored.

I agree with most of this, but my idea would be, why not just find another streaming platform to do the occasional (not twitch friendly) stream, like those random game packs, then he doesen't have to worry about showing booba.

I think he has some kind of exclusivity deal with Twitch. That's why he no longer streams live to Youtube and why streams are always uploaded to Fullsauce at least 24 hours after they happen.

This is true for most vinesauce streamers also, being on Twitch payroll has its benefits in that its transparent, recorded and working in tandem with the government which measures taxes and provides benefits to them, like an actual job, most platforms outside of twitch struggle with this because they aren't as well stablished or stable as twitch is, the biggest example i think its Limes who managed to get a loan for her own house because the British government counts both her desk AND streaming income and taxes both, meaning that she's eligible for credit score since the government takes it as an actual stable job. Vin doesn't seem to make big spending like that but that's because he already inherited his house, which means most of his income is most likely being saved for retirement, but the fact the government taxes you automatically trough twitch saves the hassle of doing it yourself and the trouble of the IRS raiding your ass when you miss a 0 on your report.
Its easy to joke about little kids expecting to make a living out of streaming but if you reach as far as Vinny or even Limes your government is forced to take your income seriously and this is something Twitch can manage to bridge and has in spades over all other competitors

Vinny signed a contract with Twitch a few years back that fucked him, that's why he CAN'T stream on YouTube or any other platform. He's legally bound to Twitch, probably for like, 2 more years, maybe? Possibly until Twitch dies.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that someone like Ross and someone like Vinny could be friends.
