Honest question to women here because I don't understand FTMs in this....did you ever feel the need to walk around in public topless? I have never felt that way, not do I feel 'oppressed' by society telling me not to do that. I don't understand why FTMs are so obsessed with it. I could understand if they refused to wear a bra because they can be uncomfortable but going topless in the woods....what?

My line of work keeps me away from them at the moment, corona too.

I've met trans people while working the cash register, never anything other than brief friendliness towards each other & have a good day. My friends and family are unlikely to troon out, at least the men. I told deep thought about my antifa female to nonbinary (but starting t for some reason), but she's not the type of troon you're talking about and more lost soul type. The most I worry about is meeting friend of friends, ie, someone my friend knows and I meet them on accident. I'm a polite person, but I know how to say no firmly to anyone who insist on hanging with me for the sake of my gender and or sexuality. If I meet a troon and the troon acts weird, I know my true friends will understand if I distance myself from them. If I meet a troon and my friend is upset for how I act, we're either going to have a long talk about gender or a short friendship after that.

My internet life is more likely to get troons crawling over it - I'm in hobbyist game circles and they have a lot of lbgt overlap, including trans people. While I personally am around some nice non-troon transgender people, I know I might meet a programming socks dickhead one of these days and do not look forward to having to play nice with them if they're openly fetishistic.

I think for FtM's it's less about an inherent desire to walk around topless and more that "women are not allowed to walk around topless. Being a woman has a lot of baggage attatched. Therefore, if I walk around topless I will lose that baggage." I think it's basically like spinny-skirts for MtFs, enjoying something that no one really cares about, but they strongly associate as being something the opposite gender does.

okay as a womxn, who is neutral about her breasts- don’t hate them, don’t love them - I can see why some women hate their breasts, especially in a current culture so obsessed with fad "aesthetics."
The thin androgynous aesthetic is very popular amongst certain millennial and gen z circles and breasts simply get in the way of that.

Instead of embracing themselves and forming a style and personality around their natural traits and aptitudes, they pick and aesthetic they want to achieve and do everything they can to superficially achieve it. Not really though... there are a ton of "cottage core witchy lesbians" people living in flat shares or with their parents who think that owning a few houseplants and a pack of tarot cards is enough to embody "the aesthetic". It’s all very inauthentic and I am really avoidant of people like that in real life. I find them insecure and boring and uncomfortable to be around.

Also, breasts are lumps of fat on your chest and only a small percentage look firm and perky but those ones make up the vast majority of what we see in movies.

breasts come in a whole range of shapes, and sizes. Some sag, some nips point to the sides of point down, some areola are very large, not perfectly circular etc

Imagine thinking your breasts are ugly or deformed compared to what you typically see but also understanding that breasts are one of the things that are supposed to make you beautiful as a woman, that both men and lesbians talk at length about loving. Imagine thinking you are walking around with a secret deformity under your clothes. Getting them removed and then feeling like you don’t have to hide it anymore might feel kind of freeing. So I can understand it a bit.
