as said, Murray owned it by buckling down and fixing things*. Molyneux never changed but at least admitted he had a habit of overhyping stuff and took it good-naturedly when people gave him shit. And these people all hated CDP until this thread. Even the people they try to defend are more mature than them.

(Also excalipunk is all over that thread fomenting shit that would get anyone else banned)

*in fairness, some of the stuff that happened to Murray right after NMS launched - like people camping outside the studio to make sure they were working - and whatnot was over the line.
 
While I give Murray props for going back and fixing NMS and making it a pretty goddamn fun game that it is now, he still lied his ass off about it before launch.

Jesus, he's entirely right, and if anyone has the right to shittalk that kinda stuff it's him since his only 2 games have been great and devoid of any kind of scummery, closest thing I can think of is the one missing area of Ori 2 that was in the trailers. Looking over twatter it looks like other devs are piling on shitting on him too. Part of it does read like he's mad that Ori 2 got snubbed at basically every award show this year though, which he would be right to be mad about, that shit is a borderline crime.

That is because here if someone is being a complete faggot you can call them out for being a complete faggot without being banned. Then they can repent or carry on until they meet the ban hammer. Over in ree you'd be expected to not only tolerate the faggot but to celebrate their faggotry lest you be banned. Which does nothing but build resentment that comes out as passive aggressive snipes because anything more would result in a banning.
 
It's more than you can call someone a faggot if they're acting like a giant faggot, it's nobody is special here. There's no protected classes that get to flagrantly break the rules, you can even call the mods faggots if they're acting faggy. It's true equality.

There's also a lack of personal investment, we don't really have much emotional investement so it's hard to get upset when you encounter somone you know you'd hate irl.

There was a cutscene in Saints Row 2 with some Latin chick in a bikini that I would beat off to all the time when I was younger. This was back before I had Internet so I kept a save just before this mission so I could refer back to it as needed.
