yeah pretty much this exactly.I think so? Are you saying that some people don't fit it rigidly defined gender roles, but that doesn't mean there's a 3rd, 4th, 28 billionth gender?

Truly a tragedy though at least esoteric sex toy dealers and anti-depressant manufacturers are making a killing. Silver linings, ya know? These are the unsung victims of the plague of troons: sports car and pickup truck dealerships.
"Terminally online". People who surround themselves with internet culture with no grasp on reality and struggle with social skills. They might seem like mortal enemies at first glance but 90% of them are roughly the same template of a person at their core.this isn't the tranny thread, but why the fuck does it keep happening?
Is like prison dynamics are seeping into daily life. The lowest hierarchy prisoners either become prison gay or adopt the submissive role in a sort of Stockholm Syndrome were they accept to become the bitch. There might be a link between all these autistic socially inept young males and their incarcerated lifestyles were they spend all day isolated from reality and on the internet.this isn't the tranny thread, but why the fuck does it keep happening?
Going through a recession, cheaper to troon out now.I miss the times when old men going through a Midlife crisis would buy a Porsche.
Don't forget Harley dealerships. These are the unsung victims of the plague of troons: sports car and pickup truck dealerships.
So which one is next up on the troon queue:
Spoony
Mike Matei
Pat the Nes Punk
The entire gamegrumps crew at once
Doug Walker?
Pools are open
Sterling and Spoony make me appreciate Angry Joe more. Well, not 'appreciate' but... something. He hates most of his fans, hates doing the videos they like, loves political sperging on twitter, seems to hate the game industry... but he keeps going, just getting a little fatter with a little less hair every day. But he's never completely imploded. He still puts out content regularly unlike Spoony. He hasn't thrown on a wig and falsetto like Jim out of desperation or , he just kinda... is. As much as his yelling and feigned outrage over stuff annoys me, I can't help but think that he's got one up on a lot of the people who started grew channels around the same time.
The main difference between this fat piece of shit and TotalBiscuit is how much more professional TB was.
I admit, dying a shitty death gave TB a lot of good points for me. TB was involved in a lot of shit, like the trap thing, having slapfights on twitter and reddit and so on. The thing is, it was almost exclusively outside of his commentary and videos. I watched a lot of his stuff - reviews, Starcraft tournaments, Terraria LP and it wasn't there.
I don't remember him being political a lot, outside of some jabs at the English monarchy and (I think) Margaret Thatcher's policies.
Stephanie Jim James Jambo is completely different, he is whining about capitalism, BLM and shit like that, he is taking hormones on camera, he has weird ramblings about how he likes to suck dicks to defend sonicfox (I assume the dick sucking was performed via a gloryhole, I don't think anyone would want to stick a dick into that thing).
TB had standards, he would point out the technical stuff and options even in the games that he liked, while Jimmy is making up political bullshit to place the game in the worst list.
TB had a somewhat cool voice, Jim have an extremely annoying screeching.
And so on and so on.
There's a reason TB was basically the icon of "successful youtube game critic", and Jim... Well... isn't. To this day, really, there still isn't a proper heir to TB's 'throne'.
He knew his stuff, he connected with his audience well, he was "professional" for whatever that means in context, he was relatively fun to listen to, and he did a damned good job and was a hard worker. Everyone else fails at one or more of those.
The only person on deck I think could take TB's place has no interest in it, and that's Gopher. Gopher has his niche, and he's content there. I can't begrudge him that.
I've said it before and it bears repeating: the Mouse Utopia experiments weren't wrong, just ahead of their time. At the time they were being debated, the only example in human culture that could match it was prisons, where many of the same behaviors were observed. Is like prison dynamics are seeping into daily life. N3 is a good bet. He's already married to a non binary blob, so its not like he has anything to lose. That guy has been using chronic fatigue syndrome and antisocial talking points for years and I feel that IRL he has noone to hand out with.Or Nerd Cubed. He already has that "Quirky is a personality!" thing going, kinda, and is hyper progressive.
No please no, the yearly Ashens/N3 advent calendars episodes are one of the few things I look foreword to now.N3 is a good bet. Moviebob?NerdSync, 507k subs, wants to show that superhero stories can be deep and complex. Wannabe intellectual capsehsit crap. 507k subs while his videos just crack 100k most not even that. Nerd manchild.
I think I said this before (I forgot which threads, so sorry if this is a repeat), but he's loosing relevance and clout, while criticism of him is increasing. Trooning is a quick way to both gain clout, and make himself criticism proof. If his downward spiral continues, he can blame it on "transphobes" instead of himself.this isn't the tranny thread, but why the fuck does it keep happening?
I still think it's Karak/ACG that is the closest thing to a TB stand in. I know most disagree because of this or that very specific thing, but if you're after a perfect TB clone, it's never going to happen. Demanding that wouldn't be all that different from boomers who think all music made after The Beetles is shit. Even if a perfect TB clone stepped out of a vat tomorrow, he'd never reach the same level of popularity due to the YouTube algorithm and other changes favouring mainstream media. There's a reason TB was basically the icon of "successful youtube game critic", and Jim... Yeah, although I guess a not insignificant part of Ashen’s channel is him reacting to eating and drinking weird stuff and this covers that and tat.I dunno, this year's was a bit obnoxious.
"Two men who apparently both hate cheese eating a bunch of novelty cheese".
I think that’s part of why livestreamers are growing in popularity (Especially Vtubers) and people like Jim are on the decline, passive aggressive cynicism is played out while it’s a lot rarer to find someone who at least appears to be enthusiastic about playing games while at the same time manages to be engaging and isn’t full on consoomer. He did indeed. He didn't go off on spergy rants about "late stage capitalism" or other BreadTube talking points. He also actually liked games. That's a big plus, given the average GARME JURNALIZT (Jim Sterling included) just uses them as a springboard for his own third hand talking points.
Moreover, John Bain, like all the best reviewers, where you didn't agree with his review on something, at least it was understandable how he arrived at that conclusion.
I can't believe it took this long for it to come out, I remember this book being shilled during Gamergate's heyday as being in production.Get your pre-order locked and loaded, only one week away.......

I had to go back and re-read that line because I think you're on to something there. After more than six years of games and games coverage becoming more and more negative, simply having someone who's actually having fun (or maybe not, but still being entertaining instead of just whiny), being positive and not a total corporate/political drone is downright refreshing.I think that’s part of why livestreamers are growing in popularity (Especially Vtubers) and people like Jim are on the decline, passive aggressive cynicism is played out while it’s a lot rarer to find someone who at least appears to be enthusiastic about playing games while at the same time manages to be engaging and isn’t full on consoomer.
People have had what, nearly a decade of commentary channels constantly ramming down their opinions on everything? It's definitely telling that more of the older commentary channels are turning to reviewing movies/games with a funny flair rather than going "E-celebs bad"I had to go back and re-read that line because I think you're on to something there. It was Melissa McCarthy, who is Jenny's cousin.
