So more solid records - such as those available on his phone or held by Instagram - that can't be editted would be a surer bet.

As an aside, a lot of the Predators in the Florida TCAP sting in Fort Myers got off on their charges because they shut their mouths and got legal advice. Their lawyers demanded to see the hard drives of Perverted Justices computers, casting doubt on the veracity of the chat-logs. PJ refused and as a result the veracity couldn't be established and they walked.

This is one of the creepy fucks who got away with it. He's cute though, built good.

Point is, the video is good enough evidence for me and you - but if a slimey lawyer is trying to create a tiny bit of doubt then it would be easy to do this without getting access to records that are all but guaranteed to be legitimate.

A post like yours doesn't come along often; I'll want to read it again and again.

I agree that nothing is certain.

However, social media platforms and service providers have come a long way in terms of their records kept in the normal course of business and their cooperation with the legal system.

Most of the larger services have a dedicated law enforcement portal where cyber crimes detectives can log in and submit court orders/warrants and then get a tidy package of records back.

There's been solid precedent set in most jurisdictions for authenticating these materials so the defense is less likely to be able to get it tossed for chain of custody issues or really effectively argue that they're inaccurate or untrustworthy.

Michael Wilusz/genericwhitemale was fortunate that PJ was as naive/sloppy as they were and he had some money to get a "real" attorney. But then you have someone like Dr. Maurice Wollin/talldreamy_doc who spent a fortune on an attorney and ended up convicted anyway.

So again, to your point, nothing is certain.

I think he's smart to use a female attorney. Probably matters less in a bench trial though.

How stupid is he? Cops are actually trained on how to make the suspect think they are on their side. "Hey Ethan, how do we find more evidence to use against you" is a bad strategy. "Hey Ethan, we love the idea of your talk show. How do we tune in and watch it? I have a feeling that everyone at the department will become big fans," is a good strategy.
