This is something to watch out for.

Goddamn this talking point needs to go fall into a pit and get buried and forgotten forever.

Don't you find it curious that you had tons of progressive internet news rags that emerged around 2013? Don't you find it odd that they all dried up by 2018? Have you any clue that Obama had set up a fund for this shit? All that shit will come back with a vengeance. It doesn't matter if it doesn't make money for shit because the point of it is to be propaganda.

Seriously, all of the idiots out there, I'm looking at you Tim Pool, who thinks the media is gonna go anywhere post Trump are deluded beyond belief. It's going to be COVID COVID COVID and then CLIMATE CLIMATE CLIMATE. Fucking France is planning to put climate goals into their goddamn constitution. They will find funding as their purpose once again isn't to make money to control messaging. It is just the greatest of copes to think that; 1, we will get an endless slew of Biden gaffes (because now that the election is over the most we get is him dumping the progressives); and 2, that we will get to watch the mainstream media wither and die.

I'm sorry, none of that is going to happen. We are going to see a return of progressive rags putting out incessant boring bullshit that's a rehash of the SJW/Anti-SJW slapfights and a presidency whose coverage is going to mirror the Obama presidency where the media acts like Dijon mustard is a controversy. Get ready motherfuckers for your bland corporate fascism, lockdowns, and final corralling of the internet back into corporate walled gardens. That is what awaits us. That is what you idiots are celebrating. It's not even going to be entertaining let alone exciting.

Really, wake up and smell the globohomo brand coffee with soy creamer.
This year is set to be a record with media layoffs and that was with covid and a presidential election to unseat 'cheeto hitler.'
An estimated 28,637 cuts were reported in the industry by late October, Variety, citing data from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, reported, nearly as many as the record 28,803 reported in the media sector in 2008.

You could say they followed the 2008 playbook but what that doesn't factor in is the massive shakeup happening with the entertainment industry. Movies as we know them are dead and that means massive financial uncertainty. Sure the government will fund some propaganda but can you say the same for entertainment companies? News is expensive for the return it gets in the best of cases(see under Trump). Disney(ABC), Comcast(NBC), and AT&T(CNN) are in massive debt with few ways to get out of it with the economic downturn caused by the current and future lockdowns.

As for online media outlets: they are all built on a house of cards. In theory they could be run on the cheap but this is not going to happen with places that have unions. When you have interns demanding $60k a year with the ad market in collapsed it's hard to justify running sites that get less and less traffic. I am sure many will still exist but it will be a drive to the bottom until AI starts replacing those that remain.

To sum my rant: yes, the propaganda will exist but the smug dipshits on twitter won't be the ones writing it.

Stfu you glownigger larping as a doomer

Jimmy Dore seems like one of those people who the DNC is just going to end up silencing one day. He's a critic and he's not one of those evil Alt-Right Trump conspiracy theorists.

I bet he gets locked up for money laundering or lying to the FBI or one of those things they can catch anyone they investigate with.

I mean I don't like the guy but him getting Michael Flynned wouldn't bring me any great pleasure.

Or screwed over for tax evasion of something.

I hope you like more developments in the absolute fucking state of the United States of America

Kansas should tell the court that either it has no standing or it can't interfere with how they manage their election since they allowed PA et. al. to ignore them and the Constitution.

2. sorry, but Whats so broken about it? Just got here so explain
The main real issue is the general lack of photo ID requirements for voting in person or registering for postal voting initially. There is no reason for that not to be corrected. The argument on racial disparity can be easily resolved by offering that an appropriate photo ID will be issued to those without photo drivers licenses at no cost. Heck, give them a Little Caesars voucher for their trouble.

There are also plenty of things that the GOP could easily have pushed for- for example, in Trump's first two years with a GOP House and Senate.
  1. Regularization of voter rolls- the reason there are '120 year old voters' is that DOB data generally wasn't collected or wasn't transferred over in the computerization process decades ago. If the Republican party really considered this a vector for voter fraud, they would have made an effort to allocate federal funds for state and county employees to make a push to fill in gaps so that the Social Security Death Index can be more exactly matched to voter records.
  2. An actually functioning arrangement to stop registration in multiple states- something like a third to a half of states currently participate in a very loose organization that is supposed to catch when someone has registered anew in their new state of residence but hasn't cancelled the old registration. The reason it isn't more is because the system and its predecessor tended to disenfranchise voters because the data used was not very high quality. Again, if the GOP really considered people voting in multiple states or someone 'stealing' the old registration being an issue, they would have done something to improve the fidelity of state data to allow the expansion of such systems.
Issues in reporting- including data entry issues that had nothing to do with actual electoral officials and were created by the companies that the likes of the NYT and Fox pay to monitor what's going on- were also blown up into claims of 'fraud' because counts were not reported until counts at particular precincts were done.

If the GOP really felt that 'bumps' represented fraud rather than... just what happens when an urban county completes counting all their absentee ballots, there's a simple solution. If you can have tabulator machines scanning hand-or-tabulator completed paper ballots and registering counts for the various races, you can have those machines connected by an appropriate means (a very specialized serial protocol running over RS-232, perhaps) to a local, dedicated device that would be solely tasked with sending each machine's count to a county or state office for real-time reporting, prior to the finalization of the count. It would be a big change to the current EAC guidelines, so there'd obviously have to be some agreement on it and funding provided, but it's not like it would be difficult. Civilized countries which really consider how to make their voting systems trustworthy and reliable, like Venezuela, manage it fine.

And of course, if Trump had stopped Chinks coming in after the first news of Covid came out, and the situation had been managed more appropriately from there on, there wouldn't have been so many mail in votes to complain about.

I think Desantis is gonna be defiant until the very end. Would be nice if he could invade Georgia.
Friendship ended with Brian Kemp.
Ron Desantis is my new best friend.
It's remarkable that there is very little voter fraud in spite of the deliberately broken American electoral system.
Come on, little rafida, you're so fucking close to grasping it!
Come on, get those neurons firing and maybe, just maybe you might realize something!

The GOP wants to be controlled opposition at this point, plain and simple. The Dems know that if they pushed too hard on certain policies that can potentially turn them into a one-party state, they will have setbacks. Therefore they’re more sneakier when it comes to ‘bipartisan’ support, all to pull off a impressive con-job.

The presidency isn't even started and we can already make fun of your dementia leader

Biden's more of a meme than the Donald himself.

Who needs a lolcow thread for Joseph R. Biden, Jr., when his entire presidency (if he doesn't break his neck playing with dogs) will be one?

Excellent work! I knew you guys would make the right decision! Let's just hope this election has no foreseeable consequences!

If it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander, right?

This right here is what is turbofucked about this situation, the beginning of the unravelling of the rule of law.

They're burying the lede with the way they wrote that story. Do you really think that 10s of thousands of people work for these mainstream national news networks? Where do you think those 28,000 loses were concentrated? Let me tell you, they're in all of the local and regional papers across the country. Take a gander at your local news paper, the printed one at the front of your grocery. If you take a moment to flip through it you will notice something, almost of the stories are attributed to other news agencies. It'll be AP, Reuters, WaPo, NYT, and maybe one or two others. These news rooms just don't have the overhead to afford anything further than a few beat sports reporters that can't be nationally sourced as easily and the local events pages.

If you read that article fully you will also notice this; "Even amid the cuts, the number of new media jobs is up compared to 2019, according to the research. The industry has posted 1,586 hiring announcements in 2020 thus far, more than double the 622 posted during the same period in 2019." Where do you think those jobs are concentrating? Also once again, the people who own those news agencies don't give two shits if they're laden with debt. They're not intended to make profit, they're intended to propagandize. Those outlets are going nowhere. CNN is the only one in real trouble and that has more to do with its' weak ratings rather than the debt it's accumulated.

You also seem to be making a gross overgeneralization of the situation in California, where they are trying to kill freelance work, and extrapolate that out to everywhere. There is no shortage of progressive nitwits willing to write a bs article for $50 and a resume note. It's the most scab friendly industry there is and why every attempt at "unionizing" amongst the soyletariat has failed. I also see no difference in my point whether it's an NPC writing the story or a bot writing it. It's still society being inundated with tired and boring sorporate HR SJW propaganda. What an exciting droning sound there will be in internet commentary...

I'm also going to say right here that movies are going nowhere, you are absolutely deluding yourself if you believe that. The only thing disappearing is the movie theaters now that film studios are beginning to release direct to streaming. Even better for them they don't have to share the profits with the theaters! Movies are coming out right now that have been filmed entirely since COVID lockdowns began. I will go as far as to say with how pozzed culture is the biggest issue film studios are facing is how to move on from capeshit now that it's main franchise standard bearer has resolved. Shit, even Black Jesus Panther's actor is dead so they are gonna struggle to fill out any Wakanda movies.

To sum up my rant: Cope harder, it's time for our future of Dramamine news coverage and endless woke garbage right to your FireTV.

That gives me an idea. Are the "Capeshit, but the character is a different race or sex" productions just a way of artificially extending the life of the genre, and wokeness is just used as a shield to deflect the obvious criticism?
