Now that I'm thinking about Jim Sterling, he's one of those fucking guys that comes up in work conversations when I'm talking to "the nerdy guy". It's always about how they used to watch this guy Jim Sterling and he was super funny and those were great youtube videos or some shit. It's always in the past tense too, like he died. Maybe in a way he did.

There was indeed time (before Digital Homicide saga ended) when Jim was great drama generator and one of the best VG industry reporters who could shit on big studios and talk about serious issues while swinging a dildo bat from Saints Row (I think it was from Saints Row?). I didn't even think Jim was that bad. I barely watched him and what I saw of him just looked like inoffensive, bland smug oldfag type content from a bygone generation, that I could once consider myself apart of. But with the amount of popularity he has in these niche communities, and his troonifiaction, I think this is a apart of a bigger problem in the Gaming community as a whole. If you look on twitter, the word gamer isnt even used for actual gamers anymore, but rather has been co-opted by stupid twigger faggots for their own benefit. If someone calls themself a gamer, or calls other people gamers, its usually the social equalvient of a Yellow Star on their body for them being a retarded faggot.

Jim is so transparent about how he feels. I said this hundreds of pages back, but more than ever it's obvious how he regrets making video games his life. Problem is that The Jimquisition makes so much fucking money and its his sole source of notoriety. All his other endeavors are total failures. He has tried for years to make something else he can do full time, but has had no success at all. He wants to be a wrestling guy so bad but his wrestling shit is just horrific and his current audience just does not convert into a wrestling audience.

He's outright saying he doesn't like video games. He's said it in multiple shows. His drug abuse and fetish lifestyle is a coping mechanism for a deep dissatisfaction with his life. I feel bad for him.

It's extremely obvious he hates it. I mean fuck, the guy doesn't even list his video game work on his social media, just crap about wrestling and pronouns.

That being said, the man deserves zero pity. He has plenty of money and could easily just start a proper business if he wanted to.

There's a lot of modern medicine that boils down to "letting the patient make decisions because not letting them will create social backlash/lawsuits/etc".

There's a reason there's no major psych evals for gender transitions, why "Gender Dysphoria" is was removed as a mental illness in some of the DSM books, why "informed consent" exists, and so on.

A lot of people (most likely Jim included) will follow self destructive behaviors and blow off doctors/therapists/friends/loved ones who are telling them "this is a bad idea, do not do this". It's very easy for doctors to let patients kill/harm themselves with medicine because the alternative (ex - having your office shut down for being "transphobic") is worse.
