Just made an account so I could comment on this thread, I was in the AG fandom when I was a child/teen and I recently remembered the few weird encounters I had with this Neth person. I googled her name to find her AG outsider blog when I stumbled upon this thread.

I thought I’d share with you guys my first interaction with her in around 2012, I was still in elementary school and very into the AG dolls. I found the AG wikia that Neth founded and edited some stuff here and there, I was a kid so the editing was probably shit and annoying for moderators to clean up but I feel like how they responded was kinda uncalled for considering they knew I was a literal child (age was in my profile). Neth and another big moderator Akaikaze messaged me a torrent of abuse and sarcasm, followed by me getting banned. They also sperged on about that whole COPPA thing that Neth drags up every time she encounters a child on the internet.

Oh, and Neth has posed nude dolls in sex positions for pictures and put them online. Forgive me if that’s been brought up already in the thread but I have a distinct memory of coming across her Felicity and Elizabeth lewds a few years ago.

Genuinely pretty disturbing.

Again, the COPPA thing is about companies collecting data on users that are kids, not about how kids are somehow forbidden from even looking at the Internet, as Neth seems to think it is if her interactions with that Shark person earlier in the thread indicate.
 
I was trying to see if I could find the aforementioned doll lewds on Neth’s old sites, couldn’t find the exact ones I had in mind but I did find this:

It has been some time since I last read these books, but I can't recall a chapter where Felicity sexually harasses all her friends.
 
If Neth wanted to keep kids away from her shit, she should've just marked it 18+ or flagged it as mature or whatever so filters would catch it.

Also those doll pics are like the AG version of the neckbeard weebs taking upskirt shots of their loli-looking dolfie dreams.

I lost interest in the comm before I could get to know her further, and years later I found out she ripped into a friend of mine for a My Little Pony fancomic she found "misogynistic":


And her hatred of white people crosses the line from "I'm a black woman, of course I'm disgusted by racism and disappointed at the continuing lack of racial diversity in toys when half the kid population would probably love a doll that looks like them" to "if you're white, you are a racist devil who is out to hurt my people, and if you try to have a calm civil discussion with me EVER you're silencing me."

The responses your friend had were really good, especially their last post. Neth has a real serious problem with putting words into other people's mouths and then going to town on what she pretends they said rather than addressing any argument they actually gave and this convo is a good example of that. It's so surreal to talk to a person who ignores every point you make and just attacks you for things you didn't even say.

She's creepily locked into the notion that Felicity is a Baby Lesbian and canon with Elizabeth. She calls Ben a dick, so I won't be surprised if she bashes the guy even further elsewhere.

So in my 20s I was suddenly all nostalgia-feels for AG because I had the dolls growing up, and Felicity/Elizabeth made sense to me. But if the books were for teens and not just to teach little girls history Ben/Felicity would totally be a thing and I'd be into it.

I wonder if she's like the Yaoi and Yuri fangirls of yesteryear that vehemently hates any male character because he "gets in the way" of her ship.

And, like, it's fine to have headcanons about a character's sexuality, it's fine to have ships. It's not fine to say little girls should finger each other and try to check out one another's naked bodies without consent.
 
I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with shipping same-sex pairings with child characters, since gay kids exist and get puppy love crushes just like straight ones. It's just that doing any sexual stuff involving child characters is pretty grody and you absolutely need to hide it behind a fuckton of content warnings.

I'm all for people doing whatever with fiction as long as it doesn't hurt real people, but some subject matter is stuff lots of people find gross or upsetting and needs a content warning. Sexualization of child characters is one of them.

It feels like there are sleazy Japanese loli/shota artists that do a better job of warning/hiding their gross shit than Neth does.

Doesn't Neth accuse anyone that tells her to cool it with her gross lolicon of being a homophobe?

Pretty much. In the FAQ on her blog she strawmans everyone who tells her that sexualizing kids like that is gross as just being angry that she has gay ships because they're bigoted homophobes. This ignores the fact that many who call her out on this are themselves part of the LGBT community. That fact is too inconvenient to her narrative that nothing she does is even slightly skeevy and everyone who says otherwise is just evil and out to get her for being a minority. It would be just as off putting if she did this with a straight ship (Hell, she has made similar posts about Kit and her friend Sterling just not at the same frequency as the Felicty and Elizabeth stuff.) One of the dolls mentioned below, Edith, is her self-insert, which makes it all the creepier.

Like many of her posts, I struggle to understand how she can write this up and still not realize where the actual issue is. Nobody's going "two girls!? Blasphemy!", that's not the problem. It's the part with the ten year old characters "getting frisky with each other" that makes people think Neth has a problem. She runs a forum that she knows has a lot of children in it (she said as much when she closed it off and claimed it was to "protect the vulnerable kids" on her board from us.), she interacts with children online (Sometimes in very vicious ways, such as the incident where she took stuff and harassed one girl until her mother had to get involved), and her posts revolve around things that are attractive to children. And then all of this "it's healthy and good for ten year old girls to finger one another" is just a few clicks away. That is where the problem lies, not with "Icky! Gay!"

Yeah that is fucked the hell up. Lolicon is lolicon regardless if it's a f/f pairing or a m/f one, and it needs to be kept strictly to an adults only space and be very clearly marked and warned because even plenty of adults don't wanna see that shit. Make whatever gross fiction you want, but don't force anyone else to look at it.

How even does someone end up like Neth? Like what turns someone into that level of shitty, creepy, narcissistic womanchild?
 
Honestly I am massively uncomfortable with child sexual pairings at all. There's people online who think that pedophilia shipping between fictional characters is fine and dandy and unproblematic because IT'S JUST FICTION U PRUDE, but even if you're using it as a coping mechanism for your own childhood abuse or whatever, keep that shit to yourself.

Yes, kids can and do sexually experiment with each other, but that shouldn't be glorified and romanticised in the form of fanfiction and roleplay. Adults thinking about kids being sexual is fucking creepy.

And Neth is 100% a pedophile/ephebophile. She uses the same line as Onision - "ughhhh I HATE kids, keep kids away from me online, how dare kids come into my PERSONAL PRIVATE adult space online".

I'd say it has something to do with spending years surrounded by yes-men who bend over backwards to appease you, while you banish anyone you have the smallest problem with from ever speaking to you. Look at the way her forum is run, if you disagree with Neth or Boom on anything at all, you are either banned or dogpiled until you leave. Compare this to the LiveJournal conversation on the previous page. That was a community she didn't run and had no power in, so when folks saw her silliness for what it was and didn't immediately fall over themselves to grovel for forgiveness, she flounced.

Neth's also always online, and has no job. Her online life is her only life, and she spends it bullying people and cultivating a clique of other bullies who will do as she wants. She's taken over a relatively small fandom and dedicated herself to ridding it of anyone she doesn't get along with personally, then has the gall to claim she's the one being bullied. She's become a shitty, narcissistic, creepy person because the only people she allows into her life are those who enable that kind of behavior.

I do not trust any adult who's into loli/shota/whatever. Yeah, it's not as bad as real life CP or anything, but being into something like that means you have certain proclivities that make you potentially dangerous to kids.
