Honestly, you don't even need the experts on major news outlets to tell you this. Sure, it's useful and all to get a frame of reference - but so long as you can actually dig into the constitution and the law itself, and you can read the clauses and texts, you can get a generally good idea for what direction something's going to go. I listened to some snippets from mainstream outlets, poured a little over the code myself, and listened to what people like Rackets were saying from the opposite side.

So, like, everyone in here who hasn't - buy a fucking history book, buy a fucking civics book. I don't care if you barely failed your way out of high school and haven't learned a thing since, if you don't want to get dragged along on another magic carpet read, educate yourself on how the country's damn systems work and have been put into practice. Otherwise, you're just going to get duped again and again and again so long as someone vaguely appeals to you for a hot five minutes.

That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. Dredd Scott was in 1857, and the Civil War started in 1861, which had a predecessor of Bleeding Kansas and Harper’s Ferry. It won’t be bad immediately, but give it a few years and it can get deadly.
