Your angst reminds me of how people got seriously twisted about net neutrality and then forgot about it a week after it was revoked lol
The internet will die any second, just watch! And if it doesn't then it's all that is to the screeching and not because it was never in any danger.

The hyperbole surrounding net neutrality is insane, and it's funny to see how much people will knowingly and unknowingly shill for Google. Nevermind that there was intentional confusion between the concept of net neutrality and the "Rules" of "Net Neutrality" where half the shit they were complaining about was allowed regardless, and the rest was just regulatory capture on the part of Netflix, Google, and other large media companies.

I literally only visit Reddit for shit like this

There is a recent Am I the Asshole post where the poster is obviously NTA but people in the comments are implying if the little girl who got her hair straightened was black then OP would be the asshole. They claim hot iron straightening a black girl's hair will mess up the curl pattern and damage it. OP straightened it just one time on low heat and even used a heat protecting spray. Also, "boyfriend's daughter" in the title reminds me of the "my wife's son" meme.

They jump straight to it being a race issue, ridiculous. It just couldn’t possibly be the mom could think her daughter is too young to straighten her hair. Some parents get super weird about preteens doing things like shaving, using make up, or deciding to use heat styling tools because they don’t want their daughters to be pressured to look pretty.

These people are also ignorant if the daughter was black, a black mom would have already had her daughters hair straightened or braided with extensions. I knew not a single black girl, including myself, who didn’t get their first relaxer at that age or younger. Natural hair isn’t really that popular as much people think it is.

Really they could have just gutted it entirely while still pretending to call it Net Neutrality but Ajit Pai is such an autistic street shitting asshole he had to go out of his way to be as offensive about it as possible.

I mean, I’ve seen quite a lot of evidence that gets my noggin joggin’ as well, so let’s calm down a bit sweaty.

"Perfectly safe reversible puberty blockers" my ass. You're telling me that something that is supposed to halt puberty in children has 0 consequences whatsoever?

You'd think some of these orgs could get sued for that kind of wording. Because they are not intended to be reversible.

Anyone calling literally any medical intervention 'perfectly safe' is perfectly full of crap. Hell, even Asprin and Benadryl have potentially severe side effects. I can't help but file these kinds of statements away for when this shit eventually hits the fan and we have concrete evidence that human beings have been irrevocably fucked up by puberty blockers.

I don't think for a second it will be as satisfying as all the assholes who hawked this lunacy falling to their knees and begging forgiveness for destroying the bodies of gender nonconforming children, but at the very least we can keep a log of these people who threw themselves onto the "right side of history" and hold their feet to the fire when they inevitably try to weasel their way out of their own complicity in this mess. Thank you, internet, for making it far easier to record the bullshit people spout.

Don't puberty blockers make you dumber?
There isn't enough data on this yet, probably because up until recently, no one was going around giving puberty blockers to 12 year olds en masse. This is the only paper I found. To summarize, the poor kid already wasn't very bright to begin with, and the blockers made it worse.

I'm one that doesn't really care what you do with your own body when you're an adult but them blocking puberty blockers for those under 16 I don't mind. Kids are easy to manipulate and often it feels like at that age it's more due to parental or societal pressure that they believe they're trans. I honestly find it horrible when you have parents telling their kids that because they don't fit into the stereotypical gender norms that something is wrong with them. The people that really push trans seem to have the most archaic views around how a man or woman should behave.
