Pancho's isn't a Mexican restaurant. It's an Ark-Mex restaurant. Invented in the 50s, Ark-Mex is like Mexican food except instead of spices and peppers and shit they drench everything in this lemon-citrusy sugar syrup. It's like Tex-Mex was too exotic for the rubes, so they made a white bread version. It tastes like garbage to the modern palate. The only reason it still exists is that somehow it became the most esteemed West Memphis institution. In West Memphis terms, Ronnie Ralph's memorial was downright high falutin',I’d just like to point out that Ronnie Ralph’s “memorial service” was held at Pancho’s, a Mexican restaurant with $2 beers in West Memphis, AK.
