I passed my first exam with a B, and I'm making progress on my review of All Quiet on the Western Front. Also, I decided to take a close friend's advice, and I joined Fictionpress.

Nice! What's your username? Will you be doing any writing there?

That's some bad crew cut, Elliot.

Say, anyone remember Redesigning Eva? I hope to work on a new, significantly improved, full-blown draft of it during the dark winter months. I've been thinking about the plot, filling in the holes. One thing that always bothered me was why Eva would want to volunteer for Catharsis in the first place, other than "to find happiness". Well, I think I've found the answer.

Why wait four months until winter when you could start working on it now?

Why wait til winter? Why not write it down now while the idea is fresh in your mind?

Wasn't your last attempt a "full-blown draft"?

Was the first draft a complete narrative arc, or are you continually re-writing sections?
Let's put it this way... when I was writing the first draft, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't even know what the next scene would be for crying out loud. It was that bad.

What about Alphaboy? I thought you were gonna give Redesigning Eva a break to work on that.

It's a good sign that you're putting effort into clarifying character motivations. I've followed your rough sketches of Redesigning Eva going back awhile now; If anything, I'd suggest that you worry about those details in the second draft once the first draft is finished. You'd be surprised at how you can come upon character and plot rationalizations pretty organically just by progressing the plot.

How is Alphaboy going?

I'm going to tackle that when I'm through with my book review. One thing at a time, bro.
Alright, alright. Keep us posted. & enjoy the Shaner thread. It's. . .really autistic.

Translated from complete bullshit: "I'm going to brag about this draft I'm totally going to write until winter comes and you all start asking why I didn't do it. Then I'm going to throw another hissy fit/throw someone else under the bus and leave for a few days before coming back like nothing happened."
