Holy fuck, i never thought of that.

Wasn’t Labelle molested or something as a kid?
If I remember that right, then it would kind of explain the skewed view of appropriate sex ed.
Yeah. According to him, lost his virginity at the age of 13 to an older man who didn’t realise he was trans. 13 was also the age when Labelle realised he was trans and when he ran away from home.

Reading between the lines, I figured the timeline went something like:

1. Labelle was a troubled teenager, also wrestling with the realisation that he was gay.

2. He got groomed by an older man. They had sex. I don’t believe for one minute that a virgin who had only recently come out as trans would be able to conceal his actual sex, so I interpret “he didn’t know I was trans” as “I wasn’t out yet.”

3. As a result of being effectively raped, Labelle developed feelings of self-loathing and body dysphoria that only worsened as puberty took hold.

4. In his mid-twenties, he decided he was trans and adopted the identity of a pre-pubescent girl to escape his inward disgust at his male body.

There was some non-binary awareness video thing going round a while ago, where it had two high school girls talking about their friend Allie, and showing how to react to being "corrected" about pronouns. Every time it started with something like:

"Let's invite Allie to the party, she's really fun!"
"Uhh... actually, Allie uses 'they' pronouns..."

And would then go into some examples of what the first girl should say or not say. Then some Tumblrina host pops up to lecture the viewer about why it's a good or bad thing to say.
Allie never actually shows up in the entire thing. It's just her friends getting offended and cringing over it all on her behalf while she's not even around.

Edit: ahhh I found it and it's even more insufferable than I remembered https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EM2ReYDWX5M
Oh yeah I saw that when it first came out and the cringe was real. It all boils down to friends willing to snitch on each other to Allie about how someone referred to them, NOT IN THEIR PRESENCE EVEN. It's like, wtf man? Who does that? Just how petty are all these mean girls, or Allie, for that matter?

But even more than that, it's grammatically and logically incorrect to say that the person demanding the other people address them by their "preferred/mandatory" pronounds are "USING" said pronouns by stating the demand. That's not how that works. That's not how ANY of this works. The person MAY "use" they/them pronouns when talking about ANOTHER person that demands they/them pronouns be used when referring to them, but there is NO situation where a person is "using" they/them pronouns ABOUT THEMSELF.

"Stock up on dildos at 11"? No, they should already be doing that much younger, if Labelle's got anything to do with it. Some terves on YouTube a while ago found his comics are sold on a sex toy site called Early To Bed, which also sells "packers", ie small dildos for little girls to put in their underpants to pretend to be boys. It's possible he didn't know about this, but his record of having signings at adult bookstores doesn't fill me with confidence.

“Stop being a faggot, Allie isn’t even here and I don’t know them. Now if you don’t mind, I need to send an invite to my boyfriend, something both you and Allie clearly don’t have.”

Probably the most horrifying thing about that tale is that, whether he knows it or not, Billy is in favor of furthering the cycle of grooming and abuse under the guise of trans rights.
