Leftist Memes - Or lack thereof...

For a while there's been something that's always bugged me about leftist memes, and I think I finally realized what it is.

Memes are an internal community language of sorts. There's all kinds of memes, across countless subcultures and different interests. They all have their own memes, and sometimes memes can jump community by means of cross-contamination and sheer muscle. The big take-away however is that memes, by their very nature, are accessible. Anyone in a given community with even a modicum of knowledge of that community can understand a meme readily, and only the more obscure ones require any research. Usually, a meme pokes fun at a given truism in a community for comic effect, since at their core, most memes are designed to highlight absurdity or at the very least, entertain using it.

....This generally isn't the case for Leftist memes. Leftist memes tend to not so much poke fun at truisms so much as congratulate themselves for rightthink and denigrate others for subscribing to a belief structure that isn't theirs. They strawman to ridiculous degrees, often completely sabotaging the point they're intending to make, and still thinking it makes them look good. The New Guy Comic is a great example of this idiocy in action. The undercurrent here is that they are openly exclusionary.

Memes in general work best when they undermine authority; leftist memes tend to enforce orthodoxy. What's very curious is that it wasn't always like this. Back in the early 2000s, all of the best memesmiths were on the Left, and the Right had an infamous incapacity to meme correctly - and it was the left that posted memes that flaunted authority, while the right posted memes shoring it up. I remember I used to go to RedState in the early 2000s in an effort to see how the other side viewed things, and the sort of memes they posted during this time period were just as painfully unfunny as the very worst of the Leftist memes now - no exaggeration. There were other similarities too, including a complete denial of reality when things stopped going their way. Watching their community virtually implode in 2008 was both hilarious.... And a little concerning.

The good news is that what followed was heartening. as populism hit the Right, the oldschoolers abandoned party lines for making fun of the establishment, and correspondingly, the Left grew indolent and comfortable in its position after the self-destruction of the Republican party back in 2008. As things cooled down, the new emergent Right welcomed expats from the other side, whereas the Left actively drove out anyone who wouldn't toe the party line. The Left's sweeping authoritarianism, denial of reality, and pathological need for validation were each individual coffin nails, and in turn, further won the Right's memesmiths additional allies. It's very similar to what the establishment left has done to comedy as a whole, really.

Yeah guys, keep ignoring fucking sd cards full of votes, more votes than voters, the whole dominion voting machine issue, "vOtEr FrAuD dOn'T hUrT nObOdY" as a defense in court, and the utter statistical impossibility of Biden getting Kim Jong Il levels of voter turnout in America. Guess I just can't read because I'm concerned that people would rather destroy democracy than admit that their Twitter cultural revolution just isn't going to happen.

Of course the troon is sketched to look more feminine than the actual female.

Also yes, birds are technically Theropods which are part of the group of reptiles collectively referred to as "dinosaurs" - but that's literally what they are. That bird is as much a theropod as the troon is a fucking male. A better comparison would be the bird claiming to be a fucking frog because why not, its a frog soul trapped in a bird body!

This is great comedy, but probably not for reasons the author intended.

The idea that a trans person would ever respond to the literal violence of being accused of pretending to be a woman with breezy laughter and walking away has me cracking up over here.
