As for that last question: because people are lazy and expect to get be able to get a quick fix for every problem in their lives instead of finding out the root cause of the problem and slowly working to come to terms your limitations or growing as a person. Self-reflection is not a skill people learn a lot nowadays and I'm glad my parents taught me to look as much inwards and examine my own flaws as I examine the outside world. I might just be jaded, but I have a hard time finding more people my age who know how to view things from other people's perspective and try to deduct the motivations and feelings behind other's actions. Always looking at the outside picture, not the person within, be that themselves or others.
If I am allowed to make a personal comparison: I've been hospitalized for a chronic (physical) illness waiting on a transplant. I've been on 12 different medication just to extend my life to make it to that point (I'm fine now). But a lot of medications have severe side effects so I took medications to counteract other medications. Like a band-aid for a band-aid on a band-aid. When it comes to mental problems it's kind of the same, but a lot of these can be managed without pills. So after years and years you have untreated mental problems on top of other mental problems, just because taking a pill, painkiller or HRT is "easier".
The doctors just comply with that quick fix. Supply and demand. It's all a full circle really. Doctors need to make money and the majority of people don't really seek to better themselves and don't want a good doctor's advice or reference to a counselor. A lot of doctors have given up or just want that salary. Might you still run into a doctor who will actually give you a better plan of action? Sure, but it's getting more rare every day. And there are plenty second opinions that will give the loonies what they want; a pill to "fix" their shit.
I agree. Never go full weeb. You can like your hobby but when it comes to anime, don't make it your life. And I don't mean don't make it your livelihood, but having your entire life revolve around it just like any other obsession and will ruin your life. This topic is living proof of that.

1. Digi had floated around being gay or at least bi since his teens. In his last livestream he mentioned finding Tom Oliver hot and said something about having kissed him five years ago, which I hadn't heard of until then. I don't think anyone had any concrete reasons to think he was actually into men until recently though.
2. I wouldn't go so far as to call their relationship insincere, but I do think there's a chance Digi has just latched onto the nearest available man, at least based off of him having said "I need a man" to May when they broke up. There's too little evidence to go off of right now, but I think we'll learn more after this "roadtrip documentary" comes out.

I don't think he was actually bisexual. I think his teenage experiences came from insecurity and loneliness. The reason I say this is the following: A lot of people, especially teenagers, attach themselves to characters to "experiment" with romantic or sexual feelings. (Have you ever seen a girl have an obsessive, almost-romantic interest in a female character, but end up living a completely hetero lifestyle afterwards? I see that as experimenting and losing interest.) Digibro, as weebs tend to do, has a collection of favorite characters he is into, and the sexual attraction is often explicit. As far as I know, all of these characters are female.
In other words, if we see "waifus" as a kind of immature or experimental romantic or sexual exploration, why has Digibro never had "husbandos" in addition to his "waifus"? Because his real sexuality is completely heterosexual. His recent attraction to men, instead of being part of his "natural" personality, is part of a mental breakdown, as I mentioned here:

The only real interaction in a slight romantic way Digi was towards another male as far as I know that he met online as a teenager. Digi felt weird in the situation and didn't think there was real attraction and just ghosted the guy. Every time he talks about say the kiss with Tom or when he does compliment men, it never comes off like actual sexual or physical attraction. He clearly likes the idea of a woman thus idolizes that image of a woman and seeks that which is a huge push for the trooning. Digi is going after men not for sexual attraction but to fulfill his idea of being in the role of a woman in a relationship and what he believes that entails. Every time he talks about things very sexually whether about his own sexual desires, or attraction to anime characters, its if not always, damn near always focused on women. I feel Digi has a hard time separating his idolization and fetishization of the idea of being a woman, his feminine interests or tastes, and his actual sexuality.

Well put, as easily as he describes his admiration with female characters, it is really rare for him to elaborate on why he likes certain male characters (aside from being "badass"). He did elaborate on identifiying with the main character from Rurouni Kenshin - a man often mistaken for a women who is also a very skilled swordsman, but besides that and a few exceptions (such as the MC from Slime Isekai who is also really effeminate) he doesn't really seem to care about male characters as much as female ones. A make or break point for watching an anime with a male protag for myself is if I find the character interesting. Not likeable. Interesting. I'd much rather have a complex or asshole MC than the cookiecutter self insert protags.
Over the years Digi really became more of a weeb than an okatu. Now he's even worse. He transcended weebs and became insufferable. Even more so than weebs are. I fucking love anime/manga, but god do I hate weebs.

I fully believe that Digi can become attached to a man in a "I need emotional support and want to feel provided for/coddled" sense. There might even be sincere romantic feelings. But the real question is if this is going to last when Bird's dick comes out -- there's a world of difference between cuddling and spreading your ass to get fucked.

was that ever in question? i think a lot of people can relate when i say that most of the people i knew in my teens who were big into weed either grew out of it or moved on to much harder shit (and fucked up their life in the process).
as much as weedfags keep LARPing that it's "toats harmless guise", they're forgetting the fact that a lot of people abuse weed as a cheap coping mechanism and once they build up a large tolerance to the point where it isn't as effective for that purpose they don't just quit drugs altogether.
