Trudeau is an accomplished asshole. He recently banned 1500 models of firearms while the legislative body was suspended due to coronavirus restrictions. It's something that would have normally never passed except that he expanded his powers because of the legislative body's suspension cuz, well, golly gee SOMEONE had to rule in their absence.

It, Brazil, and Argentina came close to greatness many a time, only to utterly and hideously fuck it up. Brazil is especially brain damage inducing, since they actually did eclipse us at one point, in the 1870s. Hell, they for like a decade had a better navy than we did.

If you're saying the guy who has had 3 political scandals already, not including the minor ones, then shut down Parliament when they started investigating him, isn't an asshole, I got bad news about what kind of person you might be.

A lot of people, particularly American liberals, are going to have to come to terms with the fact that Europe's opinion of the United States is now worthless. Back during the Cold War, sure it was important that we were on good terms with the countries we used as a buffer between us and the Soviet Union. The sneering europhiles* who have always hated the United States because it doesn't have the health care or prison systems of a country smaller than a cow pasture in Texas have gotten used to that. Too bad for them, times change, Russia lost, and now it doesn't matter what Europe thinks about America anymore.

If you want (need) to care about the opinions of countries that matter, then you need to cast your attention towards the Pacific. It's going to matter a Hell of a lot more if the countries in Asia like America now that we're going to be competing with China. The good news there is that they really like America, and not just because they hate China. They just really like America.

Slave drivers were angry that they couldn't keep people as property anymore and revolted. The USA had something similar with the civil war but had a much bigger industrial base to repair damage. I disagree that any South American countries ever came close to seriously challenging the USA. Brazil was overwhelmingly agrarian well into the 20th century (the term "coffee and milk politics" was used), while the USA had emerged as the world's foremost industrial power by the end of the 1880s and was dominant by WW1. The manufacturing power of the northeast and midwest combined with major oil reserves drove the country to greatness.

Those countries are American allies for strategic reasons. India was borderline commie during the cold war and only turned pro-American very recently because of economic liberalisations in the 1990s and onwards and fear of China. Vietnam made a rapprochement with America in the 1990s after years of skirmishing with China and the loss of some of the Spratly islands. These countries have been pushed towards America by the threat of China, otherwise they'd be indifferent to a country on the other side of the world, though they wouldn't be screaming on Twitter like progressives in western Europe do.

I would point out only western Europe is like that anyway. Anywhere east of Germany is a lot more conservative and either doesn't really care about US politics or in the case of Poland actually wants American forces based there because they're next to Belarus and Russia.

I mean I've never had to come to terms that the Europeans or Europhiles complain about America because they are usually subhuman degenerate eat beasts who are pissed that they have to take accountability for their poor health or poor life decisions. Also they're generally child-fucking pedophiles anyway (seriously fuck the french and their fucked up film Cuties).
