In case anyone was curious about all of the woodchips sailing through the air today, CNN made their way to the bottom of the barrel, and decided that wasn't quite deep enough. Originally, I was going to put highlights in all of the craziest parts in this quote, until I scrolled back up and realized the entire thing was nearly piss-yellow, so what's the point.

"He prefers the safety and comfort of audiences that already embrace him over the uncertainty and risk of encountering those who don't."

This, by far, is my favorite part because it's completely unhinged from reality. How many boxes of wine deep do you need to be to write that sentence? Is he seriously suggesting that Trump is vetting everyone who comes to his rallies and only allows people in the door if they're sufficiently pro-Trump? That's like trying to measure the success of a Willie Nelson concert based on how many people who show up that hate him, it makes no fucking sense.

Is Trump supposed to hold a rally that only Antifa is supposed to attend? What the fuck did you put in your drink, Harwood? "Trump hasn't tried to broaden his appeal." You mean like the half-asleep freak with horse-teeth who spends 8 days a week locked in his basement, refuses to hold rallies, calls half the country racist hicks, blatantly tells people to not vote for him, and refuses to make time for even one-hour meetings with people until after the election? Are you sure you're not thinking of that guy? I guess you can ask him when he comes out of his fuckin' Cuck Bunker in 4 days. Oh wait, no you can't, he never takes questions.

He's one of the dudes who earns a paycheck by specifically reporting on matters pertaining to the White House, and this is how unhinged his view of the world is. Wait, who are the "election authorities"? Because if America has to wait until electors cast their vote, then things are not going to be pretty.

And I would argue that this makes them even more of a publisher now.

I assume they mean state election boards. Many states have websites that will update live reported totals on a county-by-county basis, plus a % counted for each one. These are usually pretty solid (not counting absentee ballots, in a normal year); however the results are not finalized until the head of the state board officially certifies the election results. Then the ticket who won gets to pick their Electoral College electors.

My guess is they anticipate a situation like FL in 2000, WA in 2004, MI in 2016, or GA in 2018. Races that are too close to call are often claimed by one side or the other, even as the recounts and lawsuits ramp up. It doesn't matter what they claim because they have to wait for certified results, same as everyone else.

I guess Twitter is "scared" that Trump claiming victory will fuel suspicion about magically appearing Democratic ballots conspiracy theories. Or riots, or a coup, or Proud Boys going door-to-door committing genocide against brown people, or something.

It was only 20 years ago we had to wait until December 12th for the FL issue to be finally resolved and Bush could be properly projected as the winner. Can you imagine the Twitter addicts waiting 35 days until they know whether to start the revolution or sob in the streets?
