what the fuck was up with this episode? from full alt-right, to cuck porn, to my boyfriends son. it was all cringe! lamplighter killing himself like that was stupid as well but the final bit of the episode was even more retarded. you telling me the girl who was locked up and controlled to kill people by vaught, suddenly just found herself at the congress building at the same day the hearing started and just started killing people beacuse?

i like it when the show can make fun of itself for being overly PC and vice-versa but it felt like the writers were just visited 4chan and reddit for a day and picked out all the most shocking memes they could find and make it an episode.
To be fair, we still don’t fully know yet if that was Claire doing it. And they’re not even scratching the service when it comes to shocking (not edgy, but actually shocking) memes. At least if you’re referring to the shit in the beginning of the episode, with the impact font text memes being shoddy props.
Guess I'm no better than SJWs then.

The complaints made by other people pretty much summarize how I feel, particularly @Burning Fanatic .

I'm not angry about it, just disappointed. The show touched on so many things that could have been super interesting. Parents selling their kids for the parent's benefit. The commercialization of social causes. Moral ethics of certain scientific fields. Instead everytime they touch on those interesting topics the move away from them to focus on right wing politics being bad. And, look, different people are looking for different things in their entertainment. The friend who recommended the show to me found the whale situation hilarious. I found it gratuitous in a way nothing in the first season was. It felt like shock value just for shock value and that's been a lot of the deaths this season. For some people that's enough and I'm happy they can continue to enjoy it. Right now I'm where @Secret Asshole is, no longer excited to watch it but watching it just to watch it. Which for me means im probably not continuing it in season 3.

Anyway, I appreciate everyone who is still excited about the show detailing why. I hope your enjoyment and excitement continues!
There’s a lot of other stuff I hadn’t even covered, such as the leader of Vought (Gus from Breaking Bad, forgot his name in the show) being introduced late into season 1 and right away set up in season 2, only to have very little presence on the show after his faceoff with Homelander. Or how Kimiko, the only Supe member of the Boys, barely gets to have any good fights, and instead just assassinates some guys at a bar, hits a couple dudes at the shady hospital, and sort of attempts to fight Stormfront. Now, maybe the show’s holding off to have the finale pull through with the points I’ve raised, though you really have to wonder if the 7 episodes leading up to it (and I suppose prior season as well) were really worth all of that setup.

shocking/edgy by normalfag standards. it was cringe and tryhard.

Once it became clear that this season is just one giant “everything good about America’s golden age came from paperclipped Nazis” pseudo-hottake, I lost interest.

To add: While the Boys isn't just utter shit, it's extremely hypocritical once too often. The whole anti-corporation message is utterly hollow because the show is funded by Amazon, which is a far more dangerous company than any "military industrial complex" meme; and Homelander in the show is straight up evil while in the comics he was just sociopathic and being driven insane by a certain other character. For all the "THIS IS WHAT SUPERHEROES WOULD REALLY BE LIKE IF THEY EXISTED" ideals, it ends up probably more black and white than any DC or Marvel comic. The line is clearly "anyone involved with superheroes is bad" and "normal NPC human good". Which is hilariously centrist, but I guess that's the show's point. Don't involve yourself with the elites, plebs, or else.

I feel honestly that unless this show can pull off a truly amazing season finale, then this will be another Westworld case. A show where it started out very strong then go brought down by shitty writing and plots that really don't go anywhere. I honestly feel that the show is aimless as we have Vought, the church, the Boys, and probably some other faction but they don't play well off of each other. I honestly hope Orange man bad politics isn't going to ruin an otherwise great show.

Anyone have an idea why they keep using a fish eye lense?

For people who still enjoy the show, what's the appeal after this episode?

Edit: I'm asking for what the appeal is, what keeps people excited about the show, and does whatever those things are matter more than hamfisting of real world political analogies?
I'm mostly watching for Homelander at this point, the actor is fucking amazing and pretty much carries the entire show by himself imo,

I don't think it was the telekinetic girl, the CIA lady also got headsploded and that was long before telekinetic girl escaped.

I love how people are sperging out over the partial face reveal of Black Noir, saying that it couldn't possibly be Homelander because the face was blackened.

The face was disfigured and burnt. Surprisingly, people forgot what happened in episode one of this season, when Black Noir literally get blown up by a supe terrorist. This could further drive his insanity due to immense pain (anyone who's had serious burns can tell you, it sucks)

I did think the reference of Jack From Jupiter was hilarious, given that in the comics he was fired for banging tranny hookers.

Don’t know if anyone saw, but the cast members did a PSA video about wearing a mask which hilariously enough comes off as the same empty lifeless corporate virtue-signaling they make fun of on the show.

Why would he be burned if he has self healing powers?

Also, the actor playing noir is black.

Because he's not the first clone Vought attempted to create, just the first one that was successful. That being said, there's always room for flaws or changes. Note that Homelander in the series specifically said that the kid was the first naturally conceived supe.

Some comic stuff that hasn't been addressed yet is the fact that Vought can resurrect supes. This is oddball conspiracy lane, but the Black Noir we see on camera has been blown up a couple times already (once in Afghanistan, and a couple times at Butcher's residence), and just listens to orders from the top because zombie.

Claire is a definite red herring. I suspect the Church of the Collective is the real culprit.

I'm guessing the Church is trying to take over Vought by collecting a bunch of disenfranchised supes and creating their own in the facility that Claire came from. It would explain why Lamplighter was there as well.

They are using Stormfront to win over Homelander who would obviously be the biggest threat to them. The main objective in the court scene was to stop Voughts dirty secrets getting out so that they will still have something to actually take over. Whether Homelander goes along with the plan is the interesting thing.

I'm not sure what the exact plan would be - provided my theory is even correct - but it would explain why Shockwave was the only supe killed during the hearing, ensuring A-Train gets his spot back. It's possible the objective was just to kill Shockwave and the other deaths were to conceal this objective.

But it doesn't even guarantee that, it just opens up a spot for him. With how much control Homelander apparently has over the Seven and how A-Train has fallen out of favor it would take some kind of recovery and not just an opening.

I'm pretty certain the Seven are required to have a speedster member and if they need to fill that spot on short notice, they can bring in A-Train temporarily - which will help whatever the Church is scheming. I suspect the Church is looking to take control of the Seven and converting the Deep and A-Train is how they start.

I haven’t seen anyone mention this, so sorry if this was discussed, but this was really bugging me.

So when Hughie was injured a few episodes ago, he was taken to a hospital.

The Boys are the most wanted men in the world, right?

How did he and Butcher not get arrested?

If this next episode doesn't knock it out of the park then I would be comfortable saying this season was pretty mediocre but had moments of greatness. 7.5 out of 10.

Kinda a flop of a finale. Outside of a few things everything else feels like it was reset back to season's one status quo. Also, the Church was pretty fucking pointless.

I thought the finale was OK, the season as a whole was OK as well but not as good as season one. I get the feeling that the writers tried to smash too many ideas into one season, it would have been better if they'd just focused more heavily on either Stormfront, the church or the head-popper along with the compound-V main thread.

I think they should have revealed the Stormfront=Nazi thing more explicitly earlier on because its like she's being megahitler to compensate for the first few episodes where she was merely implied Hitler. I didn't see the reveal of the congresswoman being the head-popper, was it telegraphed anywhere and I missed it?

Chadlander remains the best acted character. Every time he's on the screen I feel tense. Also official coomer power rankings:

Starlight
Kimiko
Becca
Maeve
Mrs Hitler

They're all qt, Stormfront would be better if she didn't have that shit haircut.
