I first noticed that phenomenon with Anita Sarkeesian in 2012, you simply could not disagree with her without people labeling you a sexist, no matter how respectful you tried to be.

I didn't even come right out of the gate totally hating Sarkeesian ironically enough, but when I learned that this wasn't a debate or a conversation to be had, this was a "she says jump, you say how high" deal I certainly learned to hate her quickly.

And yeah, it's nauseating how many spineless dudes just rolled over and took it.

On a side note, you can trace a through line of SJWs whining about pop culture back in the early 2010s to burning down buildings and tearing down statues today, it's a clear step by step evolution where basically every single tiny aspect of life was called into question and the conclusion was that everything that was normal before needs to be burned down and destroyed, they just started with nerd culture before moving on to American society itself, it's actually quite frightening when you think how much this shit has snowballed.

It goes to show that simps aren't a new phenomenon. Men debasing themselves for female approval is a trope as old as time itself. As I said, soft power.

Red Sonja always struck me as the type that would go "Tits Out" next to Conan just for the amusement, with maybe "Don't Look At These" painted on her tits right before a fight.

But it's funny from how it went from "taking back her power" to "oh, don't draw her half naked, that's captilizing on her trauma she would cover up in a burka and plate mail with another burka over that!"

Funny thing is, is the whole "You have supernatural strength as long as you do not lie with any man who does not beat you in fair combat" edit from the Goddess who healed her and restored her body still canon or is it gone now?

I mean, there was always "The only two who have a chance at that ass are Kull and Conan" bit to the lore because everyone else knew that nobody else had a chance in hell.

Oddly that response was part of the problem, by labelling any critique of her work as trolling or evil they effectively legitimized the more nasty responses to her as the only outlet to articulate the fact her work is mediocre at best. Their's a pretty obvious causality between the gaming press shutting down critique and an increasingly frustrated public.

The one time I got one of her fanboys to actually talk he couldnt even acknowlogdue her obvious position in the femminist sex wars partially because he wasnt even really aware of the femminist sex wars and refused to admit ignorance but that didnt matter because someone called her a whore on twitter and that was apparantly my fault.

Amazingly the gaming press couldnt figure out that constatly calling people sexist trolls with no place in gaming might make them horribly angry.

Years later and I still don't get it not one bit, I still find it utterly fucking baffling, exactly how people could go years shitting on Jack Thompson and then turn around and so vehemently defend Sarkeesian just boggles the fucking mind, it will never in a million years make a single lick of sense to me.

Every single person who ever touched a game controller thought Jack Thompson was an asshole but all of a sudden you couldn't say Sarkeesian was the same old shit in a new package without having people who were supposedly gamers defend her, huh? What?

It speaks to who are the real privileged members of society, to what role women really have in our society, here's a hint, it's the polar opposite of what feminists would have you believe.

Newsflash, women are not the superiors to men and just because a woman says something doesn't make it true.

"fixing" hentai art has to be the funniest thing posted on this sub. What is the point of it? The original image was made and intended for coomers, your fixed drawing has no audience. This isn't some well developed character that just got put into a hentai, its literally just some random character that only appears in said hentai. These people are so obsessed they'll waste their time "fixing" porn so it conforms to their standards instead of just making art that they would like to see.

if you are a big manga/anime fan (or watched crunchy roll's video on hentai) you will know that a lot of the big-name manga artist started out as hentai artist, you don't just jump into making manga, hoping to hit big, you start small, like making hentai and doujinshi, people will eat that shit up, every artist has drawn shit like that before.

there is a shit ton of rule 34 artist out there and one day one of them will get a job working on something big and this sub hates that, they don't want them to work on something else other than hentai, I hope someone tells them about the fact that Rebecca sugar used to draw rule 34, by their logic, she shouldn't get work, right?

I'm going to blame A-logs who thought it was funny to threaten Sarkeesian. I don't think anyone went that far with Thompson.

Some people did make threats against Thompson, but because he was white, male and Christian nobody cared, meanwhile Sarkeesian is female and Jewish and countless spineless losers bent over backwards to defend every word she said, it really makes you think.

I don't want to repeat myself a whole lot but the problem is that a lot of these people are either doing it under ulterior motives (like farming karma, brownie points, or to one day fuck the landwhales and troons who lurk the sub) or to feel better about themselves. Because they either lack any desirable traits themselves or lack an understanding of stylizing art. And instead of ignoring it (or understanding why people draw characters in unrealistic proportions. especially fucking fetishist artists), they huddle themselves in a gigantic hugbox to make themselves feel good. Perpetuating the same drawn out criticisms that have already been said, like the hero with a thousand faces. They don't see the fact (or ignore it all together) that hentai artists only draw unrealistic and exaggerated proportions because it appeals to coomers. They see it as a way to boost their already fragile and weak ego. Or to gain a higher social status on the internet in certain communities.

It's one thing to make fun of a hentai artist for drawing really disgusting and stupid looking proportions. It's another thing to try to put yourself up in a pedestal to proclaim that you're better than these artists like you're the next Leonardo da Vinci or Victor Van Gogh. Or to make the same drawn out criticisms ad nauseam.

With that being said, has the sub managed to start more drama with other artists lately? Or is it the same old shit? I haven't been keeping up lately.
