I know that the character is theoretically the champion of azeroth and thus is insanely powerful, and i dont actually have a problem with that, but she keeps writing the character so that everyone hates her and sees her as inferior even though?? thats not??? how someone??? whos saved the world multiple times???? would be treated???? ever??????
the more and more i see her write her WoW self insert the worse it gets
she has an alliance champion character too? and shes actually decent but shes not edgy so shes only brought up when shes like flirting with anevay or some shit but shes a nightelf??? and anevay?????? literally bombed teldrassil with glee?????????????????? i dont care how disconnected she might be from her people or whatever, anevay literally committed genocide agaisnt her race???? why tf are they sleeping together????????????????????? (i realize that the scene where they sleep together is set in a time before the burning of teldrassil but its still really weird to me)
she wrote a little short thing about anevay returning to the horde to return something before officially leaving the horde and she writes baine so that hes a hot head who cant control his temper and immediately wants to kill anevay upon her return but theres a female tauren there with him and she gives him a proper tongue lashing and then flirts with anevay and lets her go. because you cannot have a male character whos justifiably angry without them being put down by a strong woman, and of course all women are on anevays side because no women can be as bad as any man.
i dont even usually have a problem with strong women putting men down in books or stories?? but usually the guy deserves it by being a giant sexist prick or some shit??? but knowing its literally just because lily hates men makes me angry. but of course "not all men" because she likes nathanos whos a snide and cruel character that a majority of the player base doesnt like for one reason or another, which in lilys twisted, twisted mind, makes him a great character.
like ok if you had a base level knowledge of wow you might be able to brush it off and just be like 'protagonist is a little op but its still good' because i feel like thats how most of her fans are, infact i know it is bc every sylvanas video she puts out all the comments are like "i dont know anything about wow but they did her so dirty sylvanas is a queen!!!". but knowing shes just writing characters and the world however she wants to suit her power fantasy is infuriating because thats not how azeroth fucking works. azeroth is a dark but still insanely goofy planet but according to lily its depressing as hell and everything is intense and extremely dark all the time
she defends the horde and is like 'the horde is better than the alliance' and then writes a self insert fic where the horde hates her and is full of false praise??? she literally writes the alliance to treat their champion 10x better than the horde treats theirs but its bad because it is i guess
her alliance character literally hates anevay (apparently, which is why im so fucking confused lily wrote them flirting and sleeping together) but knows anevay wants to die so she refuses to kill anevay and rather goes after sylvanas (because shes the person anevay cares about the most) to take out her revenge on the ones who destroyed her home. which in my opinion is way more badass and like 10x cooler than whatever the fuck anevays doing. she also has the alliance at her side and is a friendly/neutral character who probably has many different allies and a ton of fun opportunity for character interactions on azeroth which is clearly what lily wants to focus on and not political jargan but noo she has to write about the suicidal elf whos just sad and wants to be a necrophile with her zombie queen while still being an ass to any man in power she meets.
i dont know how she managed to make the foil of her character way more interesting than the protagonist, shes literally writing fucking macbeth but badly. she has no real flaws i guess is what im saying which you cant do if youre trying to pull of a macbeth who is literally all flaws
from the short story fragments ive seen so far anevay:
-has no respect for authority
-cannot follow orders unless the orders are given by a woman
-is arrogant and rude to almost anyone she meets
-will kill with little regard just for fun
-is literally racist
but none of those things are written to be bad
-has no respect for authority but like thats actually cool because she told garrosh to shut up and thats cool she hates garrosh so its not bad

-is arrogant and rude to everyone she meets but its actually not bad because shes nice to the orcish gaurds and like under-paid workers, shes only rude to the big meanies and people she doesnt like and its ok because theyre all stinky anyways and they deserve it!!

Sorry for the long rant but the more i read the angrier i get, the fact that she so flippantly calls herself a good writer is so fucking funny and upsetting at the exact same time.
