It’s the whole process involved that is the problem. As well as where he’d put his horde.

If Chris had really big brains, he’d take his 1500 monthly tugboat, and move west: Either to a place like Wyoming or Idaho where he could rent/buy an entire house for less than what he’d spend on a one bedroom apartment in Charlottesville. Or to one of the socialist hellholes on the West coast that give extra benefits to speds.

But that’s never happen of course. The chances of Chris leaving VA (or just the Cville area) are about as big as the chances of Chris getting married.

I think the chances of Chris leaving VA once Barb dies is a lot higher because the main reason Chris mentions for not wanting to move to "LGBT-friendly" places like San Fransisco is because he would be too far away from Barb. Or, as he puts it "there's no San Fransisco in Virginia"

Idk man, I just don’t see Chris ever leaving Virginia for good.

(He’s been on ONE plane trip his entire life. Even something like Bronycon took years of mental preparations and playing with the thought of going on a trip, before he did it.

And yes, Cleveland happened, but only because Chris thought there was China in there for him. And even then it was an 8 hour trip that trolls had to push and nudge Chris to take.)


I think Chris will stay in Virginia, most likely the Ruckersville/CwCville area till the day he merges with a coffin, not just because he’s autistic and allergic to change, but also (and maybe especially) because Chris is lazy as F and always takes the path of least resistance.

And of course he’s older now and his bad habits and laziness only got worse with time. If Chris had to move to another county, let alone another state, it would had to happen before he turned 30.

That's one of the things that always irked me about Chris and becoming independent. Ruckersville and Charlottesville, VA as well as the entirety of Greene County want nothing to do with him. They've rejected him over the years, only putting up with him as a child because of his autism. His "friends" either only pitied him (high school gal pals) or bullied him outright (Sarah Hammer). The only people who really seem to want to be his friend are Copitz and his little group, but I'm pretty sure it's mainly to use him as a venue for making content; Yeah, no, nobody gives a shit about his speedrunning vids.

He could go to NC and live fairly comfortably in a subsidized apartment and still be able to get a LEGO set or vidya each month. He'd get SNAP money (food stamps) on top of his tugboat as well. Hell, if he can get a valid schizophrenia diagnosis he'd get even more. Then you have all of the fresh Gamestops, Wal-Marts and Hobby Stores that haven't banned him. He's resistant to change, but we know that whenever he's forced to for whatever reason, he adapts fairly well.

It's kind of amazing(ly sad) to think about how he and his father actually thought here was a widespread organized conspiracy against him from the local population... and yet he never moved.
A lot of people just generically dislike where they live. Chris thought that a lot of the townspeople were trolls in disguise trying to ruin his life, and his father backed him up on that.
And yet... he just stayed there.

why don’t people who have their houses constantly destroyed by hurricanes or tornadoes or floods ever move away? They just keep living there, even tho they know eventually their house will probably be destroyed again by natural disasters that happen. I just don’t know.

That was old Chris. New Chris was set on going to New York to wander the streets until he found Cole, and some other place until he was talked out of it.

Its part of their identity. Annual natural disasters have become a part of normal life for them.
 
I think the only way Chris will avoid spending time homeless is if he and Barb move to an apartment that they can afford on just Chris' tugboat, and then let Chris handle the finances all on his own.

Even if Barb has a fat life insurance policy, she hasn't done nearly enough to teach Chris how to manage a home.
 
Could be that he'll temporarily be homeless, commit some petty crime (e.x. vandalizing another video game store, or maybe the new Sonic movie for making Sonic's arms blue), then get deemed mentally incompetent's to stand trial and sent to a mental asylum.

Or maybe he’ll find a leprechaun with a pot of gold on his travels as a bum, and use the gold to buy 1000 Legosets and build a new house out of Legos?

For the unpteenth time guys, Chris won’t be sent to the looney bin. No, not even if he starts ranting about dimensional merges in court. (Ok, there’s a larger than non-existent chance in that case, but that’s it.)

Take a walk down Skid Row in any American city, and you’ll hear enough insanity about energy fields and CIA mindcontrol to last you a lifetime.

Just being crazy isn’t enough to get you put away these days. (Thanks Democrats!)

Unless Chris is a danger to himself or others, he’ll never see the insides of a mental hospital, and even then it’s in most cases a limited psych hold.

(Which is a shame really, because you could argue that an insane asylum would be a good place for Chris these days, given how much effort he puts into his imaginary happy place.)

The fact that he has at least 2 assault convictions which were downgraded from felony charges, on his record couldn't be used to prove he's a danger?
 
I just hope Null is smart enough to do nothing more than what he did for Robert: Blank out the page for a few days with a simple obituary.

If Null actually goes to Virginia to help Chris sort his shit out I swear Josh needs a lolcow thread of his very own.
