Honestly, at some point I swear those story arcs devolved into a wish-fulfillment fic, what with his super forms, Power Rangers and Star Trek tech that seems to inexplicably appear when the plot demands a deus ex machina, and he not only takes out a discount Lord Zedd, but goes GTA on his spaceship too. And then he gets a mecha, and that's saying nothing of his magic gun. Then there was Pollo and NIMUE. It doesn't seem like there should really be much of a conflict with all those gadgets and gizmos. Damn, I watched that shit much longer than I should've...

I'm thinking back to one of his older reviews(can't remember which one), but he basically points out how much has changed about him, and then there was the brief clip show at the start of his 100th episode...I wonder if we should've seen those as warning signs of what was to come? I never really paid much mind when I heard people saying that they had all but stopped watching AT4W, but I think understand why after reading this thread.

That's definitely what I've disliked in his stuff the most. At least AVGN and the Nostalgia Critic try to be self mocking when it comes to skits, while Linkara's stuff always felt like unironic power fantasies unconvincingly disguised as tryhard comedy.

My guess is that it's because the AVGN and Snob did it. Thing is, James and Brad both have talent- albeit in the Troma-esc, so-bad-it's-good style. They can put out fairly entertaining shit. Hell, even Spoony could make something amusing if he puts some effort into it.

Rest of them? I've watched those crossover movies. They're some of the most painful shit I've ever sat through.

Honestly I miss the old spoony, he was amusing to watch.

As for Linkara. Its really stupid that he's making a movie too. It feels like 'I can do one too' mentality with these movies. I guess the avgn syndrome has struck again.

That's a knife,

He should adapt the muscle bra like Chris.
Indeed. That physique of his can remind a person the same weight Chris has. Linkara did say in a video how he has gained weight compared to when he first started. To say gaining some weight could be an understatement.

He's fucking ballooned. He was previously maybe the usual 20 or so pounds overweight lots of people are. Now he's a fucking orca.

Even as a fellow fatty fat, Linky looks horrifying. :cryblood:
That's because the guy has no muscle on him. Seriously, look beyond the moobs and rolls of fat and check out those shoulders. Those are the shoulders of somebody that has never worked out or done anything physical in his life.

Remember kids, this is what you'll look life if you devote your life to comic books.

Agreed. At the place where I work, there's a couple of folks who are pretty overweight, but they've all got strong limbs and heavy musculature simply from being constantly on their feet and moving heavy boxes all day. Linkara looks more like Chris: highly sedentary.

Checking back on this topic after an absence, a lot of this stuff is just... baffling. I really don't get how someone's ego can be this inflated... but then again I'm familiar with OPL and Wu, so maybe I should stop being so easily surprised.

Also a side note, but as someone who used to be watching Linkara's reviews and is thus familiar with his storylines (at least to a certain point), the whole point that Vyse was even an issue was because Vyse was trying to unite the universe to defend against the "Destroyer," which turned out to be Missingno. ... Yes, the glitch from Gen 1 Pokemon. Run with it.

Anyway, the conclusion of the Missingno arc resulted in the destruction of Missingno, which means that Vyse's whole motivation for conquering the universe no longer exists. So he's basically fighting Linkara for... petty revenge? Or something? For someone who reviews comic books and cares a whole lot about continuity and characters remaining in-character, this feels like an extremely huge plothole that anyone who even gave two shits about his stories would've noticed. I haven't watched a Linkara video in a year and even I noticed this glaring issue.
