From what I’ve seen, people either hate how dark it was(which is kinda silly, because you should be aware of what it was), or they hate the ending(Flash does the cosmic reset button again).
The dark and bittersweet ending was a surprise. It's good, but god is it bleak.
Last time I checked, the hate came from Supes being a retard.

Yeah, the plan was pants on head retarded - send every force to smash Darkseid once and for all. Only problem is he knew the attack was coming (because Cyborg is made of Apokolips tech, allowing him to spy on them) and prepared accordingly (in this series Doomsday was a Darkseid invention, so he spliced Doomsday's DNA with his Parademons - has an army of half Parademon/half Doomsday monsters who utterly rape the JLA). Shit gets so bad that the only way to correct it is to flashpoint the universe out of existence and make a new one.

Still much better than any other western animation as of late.

I kinda understand what they were going for, with Darkseid being irredeemably evil and a ticking time bomb that can wipe out earth in a manner of years once he sets out on it, hitting Apokolips first is not completely retarded.

However the film had the heroes go in without any logical plan or advantage and without attempting to cooperate with the myriad of other civilizations who are also under threat.

Just finished up the Priconne anime and man was it a really fun ride. Was somewhat worried it'd turn out like the granblue adaption where it got stuck adapting the boring main story before it started to ramp up and didn't touch any of the good event stories (I would kill for a wmtsb adaption). Looks like they side stepped the issue and had each episode be semi-self contained with different characters getting introduced each time. Had a great sense of humor as well and the way they worked around Yuuki being a silent protagonist in game ended up making him very endearing in the anime. They managed to include quite a few of the girls from in game though there are some noticeable absences and some only get very short scenes, but I'm impressed they managed to include as many as they did (If you watch carefully you'll spot one character make a cameo appearance each episode which is a reference to her character in game) .

Highly recommended for people that want a comfy comedy with a fun cast of characters that was made with a lot of love. Makes me wish the game was translated.

I have no idea how they got away with that, though I'll admit I don't know much about the nipponese porn merchandise game to begin with.
If you ever hang out in /a/'s buyfag general you'll quickly find out that lewd anime figurines are pretty common. There's entire brands like Native that only produce lewd figurines. The only weird thing about bondage Aoba is that he's male cause the amount of NSFW male figurines is very low. Dramatical murder doesn't even have that much sex in it but if you're gonna make a male figurine like this it may as well be from a BL game.

i watched japan sinks on netflix. its by the same people who did devilman crybaby so yes, it is depressing as fuck

So new Re zero episode came out and christ thats probably the worst fate subaru has had yet also been checking out eureka 7 lately and its a great show if you ask me

Agreed. Adding the fact that the camara zoom made it clear that some got inside of him and were fucking eating him from the inside as well makes me want to vomit and makes me wonder if the author loves coming up with increasingly brutal ways of killing this guy

Eureka 7 is probably the best thing not Full Metal Alchemist Bones has done. It managed to end coherently too, with Bones never does. It's also probably the most Macross thing outside of Macross there is. But given who the mechanical designer, and who suggested sky surfing mecha, was it's not really a surprise.

Also some of the catchiest fucking OP and ED music.

People seem to have hated the movie, but I actually really enjoyed it. Even saw it in theaters at one of those Fathom Events thing.

I heard the sequel series is ass though.

AO had potential, but yeah, it wasn't very good.

It does get heavy, the Ray and Charles arc is very heavy. But it's story about Renton coming of age and he has learn some very hard lessons.

Found him annoying at the begaining but Renton really grew on me as I continuted and felt for the guy. Fron finding out that holland is not the person who he thought he was and seeing how much of a shit he was to pretty much going insane and finding out who he was fighting against but your right, the guy is still a kid and he is learning his lessons, just in the hardest way possible

Him realizing he’d literally been killing people in the robots was really well done.

Yeah, it's worth seeing how everyone changes by the end. Holland and Talho are pretty great by the end.

I think its because he wants to punctuate how fucking horrifying dying is in this sort of world. And its not something you just fucking forget. Just like when he came back he started freaking the fuck out and banging his head on the stones. So it isn't really biscuits and gravy. They don't want you to think its this super duper awesome power with no consequences. Its probably a miracle he isn't completely mentally broken at this point (though that does happen in the first season).

For those who read the books when they originally released, how are they?

The plot is completely different, Zelgadis and Amelia are re-occuring characters that barely interact rather than main characters with a romance subplot(they also completely dissappear from the second half of the story). Additionally, while the first two seasons used SOME of the events from the novels(especially the events of the first book), Try and the two reboot seasons are completely original plots with completely original characters.

As a final note, the books are written from Lina's first-person perspective. She is quite snarky, too.

I like the novels a lot, personally. More than the anime, even.

Bones series I find are a really mixed bag, they've done some truly amazing series, enjoyable yet flawed series, and then a bunch of wasted potential too. From those that I've seen, most have fallen into the first two categories with some I'd need to rewatch to figure out which of the two they more fall into.

  • FMA/FMA:B - Put together because FMA:B has a far weaker start and really only pulls ahead for me after it gets into manga content not covered in the first. First series is also not bad but the anime original last third is kind of wonky.
  • Eureka Seven - Slow to start, I've read off /m/ it had a fairly troubled production regarding story direction so it's impressive it had such a solid ending.
  • Soul Eater - People complain about the ending but I never really minded it. Incredible cast of characters, fights, and it oozes style.
  • Ouran - Classic, ending wasn't too bad given what they had to work with though I'd kill for a remake ala Brotherhood. Really enjoyed the anime original episodes like Haruhi in Wonderland.
  • Concrete Revolutio - I've already gushed about this show a little ways back.
  • Snow White with the Red Hair series - Actually better than the manga given its current state of Second Lead Syndrome + contrived Drama + no end in sight. Season 2 has a good ending as far as I can remember so I just consider the series anime original and pretend that's the end.
  • Mob Psycho I/II - Clear labor of love from Bones + the obvious thirst that Bones felt for Reigen is hilarious.
  • Un-Go - Incredibly underrated mystery/detective series
  • Sword of the Stranger - Amazing fight scenes and good story with a memorable ending. That OST.
For their decent but flawed I'd say: Scrapped Princess, Blast of Tempest, Chaika (s1), and FMA: CoS. For their wasted potential it's Xam'd, Captain Earth (Dropped it) and Jyu-Oh-Sei (actually pisses me off) with having heard from a friend that Dragon Pilot also fell into this tier for them. I've yet to see: Rahxephon, Wolf's Rain (the ending got spoiled to me and I've been putting it off since), Heroman, Star Driver, Gosick, Space Dandy, Kekkai Sensen, and Show by Rock but I plan to at some point. There one of the studios I'll typically keep tabs on to see what they're putting out but nothing since MP II has caught my interest since I don't care about MHA and dropped Bungo part way into season 2 because it suffers from "interesting side characters with really meh MC that I don't care about." Best part of that series was the start of s2 with the flashback episodes and I lost interest once it ended.
