It says a lot more that the supposed place for anime news didn't run this story at all. And it was so minor that Variety ran a story on it.
The thing about the cousins was censors because in the 90s, everyone thought "anime was for kids" and things were edited as such. Also, the first 90s dub of Sailor Moon (at least the first two seasons) and things like 4Kids could be unintentionally hilarious and could even reach "so bad, it's good" territory. The difference between the parent groups and the SJWs is that in the 90s, you could see the reasons for the censorship (even if they were moronic from a fan's standpoint) and they weren't made with a disdain for those who'd actually watch the damn thing. Parents weren't trying to push for a progressive utopia.View attachment 1529671

"Remember when Sailor Moon made two siblings cousins? This example is proof that SJWs aren't evil/don't exist/aren't censors/have everyone's best interests at heart and that things are much better now for entertainment!"
It's very unlikely that there were never be anyone else that's a bigger simp than BT.
In fact, if he ever does choose to appear on Rekieta's show by some miracle, Drexel better be on there with him.
I feel like they already solved the problem, or got damn close to it, with Crunchyroll. A single service where you could pay an affordable fee to watch new shows, in some cases within hours of their Japanese television release, without the tedium of torrents or the Belarusian viruses and sketchy ads from pirate sites. But even before antagonizing their audience with that CalArts cartoon about the witches (what was that thing called? Spice Witch High or something?) there's the fact that everyone and their dog is starting a streaming service now and both Sentai and Funi took their balls and went home, and I think that fragmentation drives some percentage of fans to say "screw it, I'm not going to subscribe to all of these services" and back to piracy. It is somewhat astounding that instead of bitching and moaning about piracy that no one is trying to think of a way to solve the problem. Ask yourself why would someone turn to piracy instead of shelling out hundreds of dollars for DVDs. Think about the user.
It was called High Guardian Spice and CR fucked up by having a godawful video player.I feel like they already solved the problem, or got damn close to it, with Crunchyroll. Given that they know they have an audience which historically has been quite swashbuckling, I think if western distributors could unite on one service (it doesn't have to be Crunchyroll), it would help tamp down on the incentive to pirate both now and in the future.
Oh, and stop antagonizing fans. That too.

Ooooh what happens in the first episode of Escaflowne?
The first episode didn't air on Fox Kids because it would've given boys the "wrong idea" this was a girls' show. That's literally it. It's the exact same reason why it is Kids' WB aired Cardcaptors out of order.
Goddamn Twitter really makes you crazy.
Sailor Moon was also aired out of order here. I think Ami is in the second episode while in the original run she comes in around episode 4 or 5.
Actually is funny that DiC skipped episodes to get to the Sailor Scouts faster, but the episodes skipped are considered filler with the final two episodes of season one being combined into one episode. (The true second episode isn't filler, but I think it was skipped because DiC didn't know how to write around Melvin flipping girls' and his teacher's skirts while under the dark powers of the Negaverse.) So that doesn't bother me, honestly.
