I'm curious; what's the general opinion of ReviewTechUSA on this forum? I've been idly watching his show for the past few months, and I honestly can't form an opinion on him no matter how hard I try. On the one hand he seems to make reasonable points for the most part, but on the other he has made some videos that quite obviously have not been researched very well (I believe he fell for the 'Swatter get 25 years in jail' thing that was going around, as one example), and he appears to be a bit of a trend-follower. He's not quite what I'd call 'angry', but he does get fairly impassioned on occasion.

Apologies if this hijacks an existing discussion, I'm posting this at 4:00am just before I go to bed, so I'm currently about as situationally aware as a concussed trilobite.

I used to read ED pages, but when they came to real people who weren't blatantly psychotic in some way, the bias became so painfully obvious that I decided it wasn't worth the effort. I know people who've written biased ED pages about sites/people they hate, so I basically can't bring myself to use it for anything factual.

Take ED pages as a tabloid that has some factual snippets behind the hyperbole sperging and the hate.

Just like Wikipedia, take the sources as seriously as they merit. When they're actual things like court documents, they have some indicia of reliability (or at least they actually happened in court).

If it's some unattributed chat log with no source and no reason to believe anything in it, treat it accordingly.

And obviously, you don't have to buy the "editorial opinion" in it, if you can even call it that.

They can be "useful" for finding somewhere to start at least.

I'm sure he's going to be "fair and balanced" in regards to reviewing his amateur movies.

Sorry for "triplepost" but have they totally put the lid on the gameshow? Can't even find any text about it.

Anyone else think Chris Bores will try to make a movie about ET for the 2600?
well he all ready did a review of it but yeah i can see him doing a movie sometime in the future

MikeJ is one of the more underrated reviewers on Channel Awesome.
As far as I remember, he didn't really put any sort of storyline in his vids and the only sort of gimmicky thing he did was have some face cut-out on a stick that said something in a review or two. He hasn't really sunken down like the others, did he?

No, he hasn't. He's done some experiments like a week of cheap, Swedish frozen dinners, tries out some dump cake recipies and he also reviews stuff he sees on infomercials.

Yeah the only time he does a gimmick is to take the piss out of something, the face on a stick was Film Brain if I remember rightly, and he did that because he reviewed a film before he got round to it, and he had some woman dress up as the Nostalgia Critic after he did Jaws 3 after Mike did it (first of many, many inferior reviews to come!)

To be honest, Mike seems the sanest one there, and he certainly does a lot of interesting stuff.

He's also done some music.
