It's generally not but a lot of PO's will hand wave drinking since it's hard to really detect unless the parolee is a complete retard.
Covid has really put a dent in people being tested too, unless you're a serious offender they're only requiring you to call and check in with your PO so they know you aren't dead/out of state.

Terms of probation will vary by case. Not everyone on probation would be barred from drinking or regularly tested. I would think, given the circumstances of Ralph's case he would have been barred from drinking, but by seeing how often he does it and how open he is about it, I guess not.
