I just feel like Floyd had mental issues, and if we invested more into the police force to better equip the system and procedures for something like this, it would have ended better.

But also the cops seem vindicated. How could you know whether this was a guy with just mental issues, or a guy freaking out for being arrested, flying high on a substance, and using his freak out to resist arrest? Especially when he's screaming about not breathing and saying to put him on the ground instead? Seems like their ability to discern whether he was able to breathe or not was impaired by him saying it in a neutral context as well as their putting him on the ground was something he said was preferable when freaking out in the first place.

I guess the city is gonna be burned down when the case is decided.
It doesn't help that criminals will claim "I can't breath" (before Floyd), "Chest pains" and other medical issues, or cuffs too tight, to try and get the officer's guard down so they can attack (or escape) and/or see an ambulance ride as a possible "get out of jail free" card/ delay arrest.

Right, I'm sure the officers have heard all this before in one context or another. I've watched a lot of LivePD so I know that this can be interpreted as a freak out resistance thing. I just don't see a jury member seeing this and thinking "Oh yeah they obviously murdered him."

Read the article that accompanied the release of the video. They're trying to shape a narrative. That's why they didn't show the complete footage.

They changed those bullet points at the top, they were even more slanted when I read the article before. Things like "the officers mercilessly ignore his sobs as they cuff him".

I'll see if I can find an earlier version, but judging by the timestamps, they changed that shit fast. Archive everything, indeed.

Edit: I can't find it in the archives or caches. Scanning the article, you can see bits of it down there instead.

It also shows how belligerent cops cursed at and manhandled the sobbing suspect, ignoring his pleas for compassion....

But the footage has now been leaked to DailyMail.com so the world can finally see the tragedy of Floyd’s last minutes as the cops were mindless of Floyd’s anguish.

Detainees use this tactic all of the time. If anyone was watching that shrieking harpy streaming in Portland a couple of nights ago she pulled the same tactic by crying that she, "has a knee problem and can't go any faster!?" while the police line was pushing her (then what the fuck are you doing streaming a mob of rioters) The purpose of the tactic is obvious and it puts an officer in a dilemma since it adds even more difficulty to assessing the threat level of the detainee. Floyd had quite a rap sheet and this tactic very likely worked for him in the past.

Yeah, at this point I'm thinking the knee on the back was a hundred percent justified, and I was saying it might not have been at the start of this thread. George Floyd was being skittish and uncooperative the entire time. If Officer Chauvin had removed his knee, George would have probably just gotten up and started wandering around again. I do have to wonder why they didn't keep him in the back of the car if they were able to pull him all the way through it. Did I miss something from the video or is there some policy reason?

@deeplyhigh Does this match what you saw?

Edit: while watching it, it seems like it isn't the entire interaction with Floyd. Why did they cut off there?
It was chopped up for sure. could be listing name/address etc of Floyd and other people.

This is only one of the cops, there were 4 on the site, we need to see the other one.

I still need to watch this full clip, but the first 30 seconds are real. There is about two hours total of footage though, an hour for each officer that is in the court record. I have not seen any footage submitted to the court for Chauvin or Thao’s cams.

Floyd said he was claustrophobic and he did not want to be in the car.

Its not a antifa protest without one or several people shouting "GET THE FUCK OTTA HERE!!!!!"

It looks like he jumped to the other side of the car when put in, so they may have potentially thought he was trying to continue freaking out/try to get away.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those things where people can sit and watch it, and each persons response is going to appear like they watched completely different videos. Bleeding heart faggots will defend Fenty Floyd, the other half of the population will not see excessive force, abuse of power, or RaCiSm.

Can't wait for the gaslighting bullshit articles.

I believe this is the first 8 minutes of Lane’s body cam after skimming through it. It cuts off as Floyd continues resisting and kicking with all three officers trying to subdue him.

ETA: First 8 minutes of relevant footage, to be exact. They go into the store first and this clip picks up as they are walking to first encounter Floyd, but conveniently after the two officers said to each other that the people in the car were moving a lot.

How did she just get up and scamper away? That makes this one even worse.

Survival of the fittest is a fucking lie.
Evolutionary fitness is determined retroactively, not proactively. So as long as that woman breeds she's one of the "fittest". Sleep well with that knowledge.

So we’re tearing the country down for this guy who was clearly drugged out of his mind? What a fucking joke that we want to tear up the whole system because of one out of control cop. Fuck victims, we can’t have a career criminal die in custody (even if we prosecute the cop).
*Puts on DSP voice* THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET YOUR FEELINGS STEER YOUR ACTIONS!" Sorry for the caps lock but I think it gives it more omph. And what has it brought us? Some cities (all democrat mind you) have turned into literal war zones the police is in retreat and BLM has suffered a severe popularity hit. Just like MeToo BLM is trashed by the same idiocy. Though I hope it gets declared a criminal organisation (Terror organisation won't come through no one not even Trump would dare to do that)

Yeah, but that wouldn't stop them from arresting or detaining him would it? Are they concerned he'll freak out if they put him in there and damage the car?

Why not just close the door he's going for so they at least have the unstable and uncooperative guy in the car and off the streets?

Eh, it's useless thinking about it, since George was on a fentanyl countdown anyway. They probably would have said they cooked him to death in a hot car even if they got him in.

They offered to roll down the windows, but then he requested to be on the ground, I think. That’s when he jumps through and lands on top of Lane and the three bring him down to the ground with a struggle. He was acting erratic the entire time, so it’s impossible to tell what he was thinking.

The other thing I noticed as I watched is that the right side of the laptop screen is cut off at the moment when Floyd is looking the most wild-eyed and intoxicated. It is also hard to see the foam at the corners of his mouth, but that is when it was most visible.

All the bleeding hearts will watch that video and say "The poor bebe! He was a scared widdle bunny, why didn't the cops get him some milk and a blankie?" and anyone who has had to deal with a dindu nuffin will recognise THE oldest trick in the book, act like you're special and can't follow directions until you can get away.
The truth is likely in between, he was high and panicky due to past bad police experiences. The cops were having to deal with a suspect that wasn't acting rationally and therefore might be dangerous. There was an unfortunate outcome. It does not excuse what the mobs did next.

GOOOOOO! GOOOOOO! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Antifa kid threatens to kill a guy he is "escorting" away from the park they occupy next to the Justice Center in Portland:

threat.mp4

If not for the fact that pasty, beanpole faggot is whiter than my hair, this would have been half way to a nigger moment.
