I guess it's okay to be a total asshole towards long-suffering service workers as long as you're trans. The poor lady at the desk is just trying to do her job. She could get sacked if she didn't check people's IDs for inconsistencies or whatever. Just say that, yes, this is Stephen, and move on.
 
I believe the Emergency comic was the debut of Assigned Male. So the mother develops from a woman exasperated by Stephie’s focus on gender even when her life is at stake to a danger haired, femme coded parent who exists solely to affirm Stephie’s gender awesomeness.

Maybe this is a culture thing but I haven't ever heard anyone say "I rather die than be like you" to anyone and I have been around severely disabled alot. Behaind someone's back maybe or when talked in theory definitely but never to someone, it's just obliviously rude even if you do feel that way. What I have seen is people rushing into helping when not needed, being overly polite, positive and clear like talking to a child, misidentifing signs of disability to signs of being drunk or high, being clearly uncomfortable despite not saying anything, little kids staring and stuff like that. Not really rude but can make one feel like an outsider. Unfortunatly you can't really make snarky comic about that, other people look way too reasonable when the disabled blows up about minor issues that are on same level as other social mistakes that everyone has suffer trough.

i dont know if this is just because im a perfectionist with my art but does anyone else think that the style in assigned male is just..so fucking ugly? the linework sucks, the colors dont go well together at all and look like they could come from some 2007 deviantart anime oc, i guess the overall artstyle of how they draw things could be okay if the other things are fixed? i dont really care for cartoony styles but most of it in the comic is just objectively so ugly and bland

It's repulsive. Even from a non-perfectionist standpoint there are good cartoons that are drawn crudely, but they have charm. Bill's art is lazy and worse, completely charmless, even disgusting. I suppose the shittiness of the art matches the subject matter.

He reminds me of Andrew Dobson but worse, because Dobson's decline is almost entirely because he doesn't practice at all. Bill constantly draws this shit, at least enough to turn out something semi-regularly, and just gets worse and worse.

Probably putting less time into each individual cartoon. It’s obvious from some of the recent lazy cartoons (the recent mouths one, for instance) that he’s taking all the shortcuts he can.
