I can talk a little bit about Lord Vyse. He's a multi-versal conquerer, and first appeared in Iron Liz's show and was established with the quote "All he sees, he conquers". He got his ass handed to him by Lewis, and Linky boy took his ship from him. Then, it was revealed that his consciousness somehow snuck into Link's pet robot (roll with it) and got beaten again. It's theorised that the villain for the AT4W film is Vyse again, due to the fact that Lewis "subtly" hinted on his more recent arcs that Vyse isn't done.

It bugs me a little that people such as that, who are obviously quite intelligent, talented, and creative, openly use IP from other companies to tell their stories. Sure, it's probably a nitpick, but when you've got two reviewers battling each other with sonic screwdrivers...

Being fair, is not as new concept as you think. (Using characters from other stories to tell ideas or revisions of their stories). What is new is the concept of IP and "everyone can do it, my SherlockSupernatural fanfic has 10k views".

And being even more fair, western comic books tend to go as using superheroes as board pieces to tell stories that not always are true to the characters and more in line with the writter themes.

Still corny in the case of Linkara storylines thought.

My guess is that it's because the AVGN and Snob did it. Thing is, James and Brad both have talent- albeit in the Troma-esc, so-bad-it's-good style. They can put out fairly entertaining shit. Hell, even Spoony could make something amusing if he puts some effort into it.

Rest of them? I've watched those crossover movies. They're some of the most painful shit I've ever sat through.
