This therapist spends the entire rest of the article practically grovelling to be forgiven for the fatphobia she still struggles with, and is totally in line with FA/HAES/anti-diet ideology. She admits her fatphobic guilt right up front--the way white people are all supposed to admit their racism, these days--and then goes on and on about her determination to Do Better.

But it hardly matters; no matter what subset of the cult of Woke, the total lack of forgiveness and redemption is the same.
Thin people can never do enough to earn the forgiveness of FAs, because they don’t WANT to forgive. They want to be fucking different people than what they are now, but that’s too hard and they’re not and they hate it and they’re angry and they want to be angry at someone other than themselves. So if every thin person on the planet tomorrow declared fat people right and rid the universe of all diet products and fired all the fashion models and widened all the airplane seats and took all the calorie counts off pub menus and never said another single thing about weight ever again it would still not be enough for FAs. They’d just turn around and begin vilifying everyone who fits into clothes 2X- 5X as “the real enemy.”

I do think the way ordinary fat people are treated is bad and could be much better. But I have no sympathy for the kind of people who literally post about demanding their friends hide their bathroom scale when the FA visits for a party so as not to “trigger” her.

They don’t like themselves and they’re going to project it onto others.

From the article that triggered the whales:

That's just the opening paragraph so that should give you an idea of how much they've distorted it.

Interesting how the therapist describes trying to ground herself as she braces for the encounter with her client to be there for her the best she can. Always trying to keep the emotional connection while her mind dissociates from the task. It sounds like hard work, not just an easy encounter among fellow women. The client doesn't even want to search for the psychological knot behind her emotional eating. The therapist doesn't think WLS would solve the problem. How nice of her, how welcoming she is despite the client standing against all the therapist has learned and taught herself over the years about FA.

What thick glasses does the FA-activist have to wear to read the therapist's commitment to guide her client through the abyss of self-hatred without opting for dietary changes to see this as an example of some of the worst fatphobia? That's a whole new level of blindness there.

I guess when you live on tumblr and instagram, anyone who doesn’t address you as “SLAYYY QUEEEN FAT BABE SO BRAVE” is immediately seen as hostile.

Which seems as good as time as any to raise the question; what is the attraction of BOPO and FA wokey women to (I hate to dignify it with the term, but ..) 'drag queen culture' which is an exclusively homosexual male enclave which utterly mocks women and femininity? I've always wondered. Is it just the influence of Drag Race with its plethora of annoying catchphrases and the presence of gallons of garish make-up (so girly! so fun!) and fashion... or what?

Are loud, brazenly sexual, barbed-tongued homos the women FAs really want to be?

Well they're utterly FIERCE and FABULOUS and EMPOWERED so of course they do.

God, I hate that word. Fierce. It really means "ignorant loudmouth."

New article on body positivity from none other than Vice.
If you don't want to read through a wall of navel-gazing and self-pity, here are some highlights.

“I think [body positivity today] means slim, heterosexual, able-bodied, cis white women,” Michelle Hopewell, writer and plus-size blogger, tells VICE.

The bulk of search results don’t even depict fat people at all, though, but thin, able-bodied ones who may have a solitary tummy roll (from certain angles) or the faint hint of a double chin. Fat people, and especially fat Black folks, POC and queers, are all but absent.

As author and longtime fat-liberation activist Virgie Tovar tells VICE, body positivity in its current incarnation is not enough to combat deeper anti-fat bias. “Positivity is not what the most vulnerable people in the population need,” she says. “Fat people are being denied medical care, dignity, full humanity, and employment. Kiese Laymon has pointed out that if you’re fat and Black, you are at potentially higher risk of being targeted by police. These things are emergencies.”

When it comes to fat babes, however, we need a lot more than those feel-good vibes to ensure our survival. Self-love cannot be the beginning and the end of the conversation around body-liberation when the safety of fat bodies is quite literally at risk — and if the thinner, whiter, more privileged, usually less queer individuals, many of whom have learned a lot from and been helped by fat-acceptance voices, truly cared about fat folks, they’d realise this.

So, even though body positivity has more or less become a pretty mainstream belief among liberals, it's still not enough for these people. Who's surprised?

Lol. Fatties are only likely to be more targeted by police because they can't run away as fast.

The safety of fat bodies has always been literally at risk because they are fat bodies. If you are fat, and especially if you are deathfat, you are more at risk of heart problems, coronary artery disease, aortic aneurysms, cerebral aneurysms, strokes, cancer of all types, the dreaded beetus, an increased risk of injury from falls, blowing out your ligaments, and all manner of other ailments.

Hey Gorls! Has Bailey B. been here yet? Behold HAES-effect!
This is Bailey Peyton Walton. She used to be an actress but has since jumped on the yummy gravytrain of plus modeling and boy has she taken in the HAES-lifetyle. See Bailey on 2016. Not a bad figure at all I think.

How heavily are these pictures shooped? (I'm assuming they are to some extent as a baseline, 'cuz HAES people ALWAYS do fucky shit to their pictures.) Having said that, I don't see arms the size of her head like Tess what's her face has, etc.

No she ain't there yet. I'm really bad at spotting the shoops they use, but I would assume there's plenty. Unless this is a speshul snowflake unicorn cow who doesn't shoop. :optimistic:

Aren't the majority of fag hags homely women who couldn't get male attention otherwise?

I think this is the aspect of FA I understand the least. The fear of getting weighed. If you accept that you are fat, love it so much, and are the happiest you've ever been, why is it such a big deal? It's not even enough to simply ignore the number, they have a problem getting weighed at all.

I know the reasoning is something like, "Society and the medical field judge me unfairly based on that number, so it's harmful to me for anyone to know it." And/or, "I used to have an ED [tried dieting for awhile], and knowing my weight triggers me [makes me consider dieting again. Effort- ew.]

Whatever the half-baked excuse is, it just betrays their deep shame in the number displayed. Aren't they supposed to overcome society's preconceived notions? They assault everyone's eyes in skimpy clothes on a regular basis in the name of making everyone accept them. They aren't embarrassed to show off their lumpy flesh and weird rolls. But become paralyzed at the threat of actually knowing their weight.

Strange cult.

Yet when doctors say it, they're being prejudiced and triggering. :(

Sorry, can't do it right now.

Zoomed in on the black bikini picture and while looking for stretchmark smoothing, saw stretchmarks on the thighs and fupa and shave bumps indicating she knicks the pubes (and her knicking of said pubes was probably a day old, or with a shit razor). Grossed me the fuck out that she couldn't at least airbrush those away. While it looks like there might be a smidge of smudge to create a waist (there's evidence of lacking shadow and blur of the gray coming in from the rocks where her waist dips in), I currently am not in a spot where I can launch GIMP and take a closer look - there's a brat in my vicinity that I've directed to get to fucking sleep, and brat will gripe if I turn up the brightness of my monitor to take a gander. :( Sorry gorls!

Edit: Dur, quote function works. Pardon me while I drink more bleach and continue the slaughtering of my four remaining braincells.

RE: Vice's article.
Now, maybe I'm just a country bumpkin (and slightly fat, but doing my best to recover)...
But if I spent this long thinking about being fat (this article must have sat in her brain for at least a half an hour between conception and completion) and how being fat has consequences, I'd think to myself:
1. Time to get a rice cooker so I can cook some long grain rice and steam some veggies to go with it.
2. Time to quit the sugar drinks.
3. Spend more time working in the garden and walking about.
4. Time to stop expecting the world to change for me. It didn't work in high school, why would it work now.

' When it comes to fat babes, however, we need a lot more than those feel-good vibes to ensure our survival...'
True, but not for the reasons she thinks.
