you have to get convicted, and not every state has laws about that. Which is ridiculous, since so many mass shooters have a history as domestic violence perpetrators.
Missouri doesn't have a gun prohibition on even convicted misdemeanor domestic violence offenders. However, federal law has that covered. Missouri also apparently doesn't have an automatic ban on owning guns for people with pending domestic violence charges or with a restraining order related to domestic violence, although a court could probably impose such a restriction with cause. There probably isn't cause in this case though.
