I gotta wonder what most of these brats' parents would do if they found out about their lifting hobby.
"How DARE you suggest precious little angel would do such a thing!!! She's the cheerleader in school and got a award for outstanding community service!! We have money and she can afford ANYTHING! Indeed I'm sure she has more money in her purse now than what you make in a month. I'm gonna SUE you for millions!"

"I'm gonna SUE you for millions, for slandering the good name of my precious little angel!!!"
Ehhh I'm not so sure. I notice tumblrinas almost universally hate their parents. I think if mom and dad knew what they were doing, they'd be in some serious shit. No good parent would ever allow their child to engage in such a practice.

The Tumblrinas got pretty upset about my fake blog. There was a big warning post about how I was trying to lure them into getting caught (not sure how) so "stay safe." Someone also accused me of making threats because I said I'd make another blog, lol.

Man, these people are hilarious. I love how these ~lifters~ always, always manage to find a way to shift the blame onto other people and act like they're the ones who are the bad guys while they (the lifters) are the innocent victims/bystanders/whatever.

Lifter: How DARE you give out false shoplifting advice! Are you trying to lure people into getting caught stealing?
Sane person: Uh, yeah, actually. That's the point.
Lifter: I AM LITERALLY SO TRIGGERED RIGHT NOW UGGGGGGGHHH HHH UGGH HNNNNHG

I don't know they seem to be having a field day with it right now. (As in, laughing instead of being triggerdz except for a few of them.)
They seem pretty not-shit-giving except for just a few. Not sure if that makes them better or worse.

When I was a teenager I used to shop lift alongside my sister not because I didn't know any better but because I simply got into the thrill of it for whatever reason.

Long story short when I was confronted by police, despite no charges of bans being put in place, I was terrified as shit.

Honestly it's not worth it to shop lift. The only thing you'd be doing is getting yourself into trouble in the long run.

Looking at the tumblr posts I'm seeing people steal up to $1000s of dollars worth of products- they truly have no shame. Even worse, they think they are entitled to it!

You guys are all casuals. Why, just yesterday me and a few of my friends stole these dump trucks, filled them with gold from the federal reserve and brought them back to our secret base.

Yes, they hate their parents, but their parents usually bend over backwards to accommodate their every want and need. So, I think it's pretty realistic.

That's one of the roleplay blogs. It says so right in their tags. They have no idea what they're doing because they've never done it before.

On that note I wonder how many people won't read the tags on that sort of thing and will -actually try to ink out floor cameras with a hat-.
I thought they labelled these as RP blogs like how marijuana forums claim to be medical patients only. Or "for learning" or w/e

When I was around 15 I made lockpicks in my basement with a simple file, from high quality sawing blades. Boy, was that hardcore. ~1 hour of filling to make one.

I was then breaking into other people's basements, stealing few minor things like cigarettes, books or metal tools (I had no money to buy them and really wanted to craft with them), or not stealing leaving the place intact. Just to see what's inside.

One Sunday I was out of igniting tools and desperately in need for a smoke. So I broke into my neighbour's place after his matches. Too bad I timed it so badly he almost caught me during the act. I left without a word, with unlocked padlock and confused neighbour.

I narrowly avoided getting punched in the face :)
Actual lock picks or just a bump key? Even a bump key is considered being equipped to commit a crime, so if the cops had decided to arrest you, you would have been in a lot of trouble. You got really lucky.

On-topic: These kids better hope that a local PD doesn't decide to boost their numbers for the month by going after the low hanging fruit. All it takes is a store owner/manager finding out about this little community and one angry call to the mayor's office later, a bunch of these little shits are picked up.

If I see a lifter post a receipt, and SOMEHOW leaves the info on it I call the local PD/SD.

Aint' gonna let those bastards get away with it.

If they post a receipt, wouldn't that mean they weren't lifting?

Or did they buy one thing and lift everything else and they're showing it off?

First. Making/using a bump key required more skill and knowledge than I had at the time. I was a total amateur.

I'm not sure my country's keystone kops ever heard of a bump key. Anyway, to do anything in such situation they would need to have evidence I broke there, and open padlock was the only thing. I could argue it was left open by the owner.
They never found my tools, so worst thing that they could do to me was registering me as a felon. Not the worst thing that could happen in my life, considering few years later I almost went to jail, for supposedly throwing a dog over the balcony.

Could you believe a dog was in so much pain it commited suicide?
I wanted to put him to sleep. That's why I was the first on the line of fire.
Anyway, policemen who interrogated me really hated my guts despite seeing me for the first time, and still they could do nothing because nobody saw what happened. So, our tumblerinas will live fine unless they get caught red handed.

Bump keys are easy to make and use.

People are convicted without witnesses all the time. Posting pics of the stuff you stole and saying you stole it is evidence enough, but even if you turn around and say you were kidding, that's pretty damming. It wouldn't take too much police work to link a haul post with security cam footage. Also, if you can't produce a receipt, that'd help their case too.
